Купить BR Standard 2MT

Информация о дополнении

The smallest of British Railway’s Standard class locomotives, the BR Standard Class 2MT, is now available for Train Simulator.

Originally derived from the Ivatt-designed Class 2MT for the London, Midland and Scottish Railway, the BR Standard Class 2MT was designed by R.A. Riddles with a 2-6-0 wheel arrangement and tender, with some differences to its LMS cousin. Noticeably, these included a reduced cab and taller chimney, and copied the tender cab from the LMS version to give the crew better visibility, especially when running tender first.

The Class 2MT, often nicknamed ‘Mickey Mouse’, was also designed to be light in weight so it could operate on mostly light laid routes and secondary lines, primarily in the North of England and Scotland, proving its versatility to haul passenger and freight trains. The BR 2MT is also known as having one of the shortest operating lives of BR steam locomotives, being built between December 1952 and November 1956, and being withdrawn a few short years later by August 1967. However, four of the class have survived on the UK’s preserved lines.

The Standard Class 2MT for Train Simulator, developed by Digital Traction, is available in British Railways black livery with early and late crests, and features lamp and firebox effects, custom headcode and headlamps, realistic driving physics and steam effects.

The locomotive is also Quick Drive compatible, giving you the freedom to drive the BR Standard Class 2MT on any Quick Drive enabled route for Train Simulator, such as those available through Steam. Also included are scenarios specifically for the Western Lines of Scotland (available separately and required to play these scenarios).

Six scenarios for the Western Lines of Scotland:

  • All Fired Up
  • You’ve Got Mail
  • Stewartry All Stops
  • The Errand Boy
  • Galloway All Stops
  • Job Done
More scenarios are available on Steam Workshop online and in-game. Train Simulator’s Steam Workshop scenarios are free and easy to download, adding many more hours of exciting gameplay. With scenarios being added daily, why don’t you check it out now!

Not anywhere as good as I had hoped. The description is misleading - "realistic driving physics and steam effects". Nope. Not realistic at all, from a driving point of view.

- Exterior model is good.
- Very good scenarios - lots of AI.
- A lot of workshop scenarios available
- Sounds ok, not great, but OK.
- Surprisingly powerful
- Has a lovely whistle and a range of short whistles on the "b" key

- Interior is low quality and lacks functions
- No advanced steam physics such as Steam Chest
- Only comes with light engine consists in quick drive.
- Brake handle rotates the wrong way for a BR Standard locomotive - you should have to push it away to release, but in this, you pull it towards you to release.
- Mismatched valve gear animations of either side of the loco - right hand side valve gear barely moves.
-Loco brake doesn't do anything.
- Cab does not resemble that of a real life BR Standard loco.

All in all, a fairly average, verging on disappointing loco. Very glad I bought this it half price as it is not worth the full £12 any day.

Final verdict: Only buy this if you don't mind a lack of realism.

I really love the Mickey Mouse; high quality sounds from SSS, developed by DT and plenty of scenarios on The Port Road to keep you busy, definitely worth the money!

This loco is a rather sharp loco, in my mind. I attach about 10 wagons to it and then toss it on the S&D and up it goes out of Bath with no problems.

Unable to access 2D map at the start of Stewartry All Stops and so unable to manually set points

This engine is rather nice addition to any roster. Like most BR Standard 2's, this tends to fire off rapidly. Attempting the Ton in this engine on a steep downhill grade with an unbraked train isn't going to be impossible, but it will lead to a lot of fun when you overtake any A4 or any streamlined express engine.

it's pulling power is most excellent and it's able to keep a fair amount of steam pressure. If into long trains, doubleheading is essential. More suited to mail trains and the like.

If you're into Mixed traffic engines, but you have any of the big engines (8F's, LMS Black 5's, SDJR 7F 2-8-0's, or the like), go for this at all costs.
