Good atmosphere and story ruined by horrible UI, wonky controls and illogical puzzles. Plus, you have to make an account for that unnecessary "Kalypso Launcher" in order to play the game.
Avoid!

This is a game that tries -and fails- to be a first person horror experience. There's a disturbing story, nice graphics (though the bloom effect in the daylight sequences is bothersome) and great sound design. The atmosphere is here but the puzzles are nothing short of frustrating. You need to hunt for pixels and rub them against other pixels and most times it's not intuitive. You end up spending a lot of time trying to find solutions to puzzles, so any sense of urgency is utterly lost.

Worst of all, still, and SPOILER ALERT, I suppose

...

...

You can't die. There's 0 threat in the game and you eventually catch onto it, ruining any tension that might have been built up. My recommendation is: skip it. Play Amnesia instead.

Pros:
>Lighting
>Graphics
>Sound
>Interesting story

Cons:
> Not really scary
> Have to sign up and register to makers of the game to play it.
> Can be very confusing at times.
> Inventory interface is lacking

All in all story is ok-ish but it has been done before, game looks great but just seems boring to me. The puzzles can really cause "WTF?" moments.

Id reccomend it to those who are hardcore fans of this point and click horror genre but if you are not id give it a pass.
You are not really missing much.

4/10

This game is absolutely beautiful graphically. The shadows, the feeling. Good graphical design. Audio also is very good. Also story writing. Reading the journal first time was long but very interesting. So storytelling is also good.

What this game lacks of is UX-design or User Experience. Seems like Kalypso or whatever company had no money for UX development. Inventory is crap. Searching a pixel on 1920x1080 in darkness is hopeless time waster. Even the inventory items look like crap. And puzzles. This is all the field of User Experience design. And this game does not have it.

Still a quick play through so. Don't buy it if you don't like clumsy UI-s.

Before you can start the game you have to sign up for an account and log in with a password, it gets really annoying eapecially when you have to keep restartig the game to deal with issues mentioned later.

While playing the game every couple of minutes the lighting breaks and flashes a very bright strobe like light everywhere. This can be quite painful for your eyes if you were playing the game in the dark. I'm using an nVidia card so the excuses of Intel GPUs not being supported doesn't explain the problem. I have checked and made sure that the game is using my Nvidia card. If this happens to you, you will have to repeatedly exit the game and restart to get a few minutes without the bug, sometimes, this doesn't work.

I had an issue where I tried to play the game on a large TV screen at 1080p a bit away from me and all the text was too small to read.

The overall atmosphere is good, as is the music, there is a good mix of jump scares and creepy storylines but the game is very short and you'll probably either follow a guide or spend quite a bit of time wandering around wondering what you should be doing.

While the game can be enjoyable if you can get it working I wouldn't recommend it due to the game breaing lighting bug, it's not worth risking your money for a game you might not be able to play.

It`s really a mess, but a very pretty mess with some very scary moments. Things never really come together and the puzzles are sloppy and poorly constructed, leading to wandering and frustration which sucks the horror out of what could have been deeply unsettling. I liked the atmosphere and uniquely creepy happenings, but eventually hit a point where I didn`t care about solving things myself anymore and just wanted to see the ending. It might scratch your itch if you`re running out of horror games to play, but it could have been much, much better. I can recommend this loosely for scaring me a few times, but overall can`t suggest it for anyone but the most hardcore horror lovers.

A wonderful story. Such is today no longer see.

The game is quite enjoyable just the difficulty of the puzzles are somewhat exaggerated.

I recommend the game only if you love adventure and discovering the story piece by piece.

I tried my damndest to give this game all the tries. For me, the puzzles are way too intricate and require way more work than what I think is necessary. Don't get me wrong, I love difficult puzzle games... But, this game tries to take that stirke zone to a whole different level. Personally, I would not recommend this game. Puzzles make no sense, and even the story line isn't that great. Apologies to anyone who thinks otherwise.

Still, if you're a fan of the horror genre (I'm not), and enjoy a good story and AMAZING visuals, give it a try.

I'm confused. I don't actually know what the fish I just played.
- Charming music, which is good.
- Disturbing, creepy, which is good.
- Interesting, which is good.
- Short, which is not.
- Makes no sense.
- Buggy hotspots.
- Badly optimized LQ graphics.
And still, I don't know what was it. 5/10

If you like sifting through the dark looking for a small Item you missed, you will love this game. However I enjoy puzzle games where the puzzles make sense and I don't need to wander around doing nothing.

If you like puzzle games play Mind: Path to Thalamus.

just brought it and cant even play it again because the screen is cut off at the bottom when I play. I have no idea how to fix this and neither does anyone else. from what I have played so far the story is illogical and makes no sense which really frustrates me as this could have had great potential, It doesnt explain in the game what intuitions are that your suposed to collect, but I dont know what they are so how do i collect them?

The puzzles are quite obscure, the interface is really annoying. Avoid the headache and watch a walkthrough for the story.

Very buggy, just installed after purchasing last year. Looked like it could be good, the initial puzzle to get into the house was easy enough although I can not comment on any further puzzles. Once in the house the game crashed. I am above minimum recommended requirements for Mac so assuming this is a bug. Any time the lighting or texture changed - on the puddle and stove - the game crashed. Very frustratiing, after turning the graphics down and retrying after attempt 3 it was uninstall time. Was fairly eery and could have been good, if I could get past the first room.

Although this game has a creepy tone and many puzzles you may enjoy I found it very long and tedious. The plot is meant to be abstract in my opinion but I stuggled to figure out what exactly had occured even at the end of the game because it was so vague and interprative. If you like creepy spooky stuff and lengthy puzzles go for it and buy it on sale but if not save your money

While I never review games I didn’t clear, whenever in a point and click adventure game like Anna the very first puzzle you come across requires you to check a walkthrough on the Internet you get a very clear picture of the things to come
