About This Game

BLACK RELAY is a short-form sci-fi horror experience about restoring a failed communications network on a remote planet while investigating the disappearance of a three person space exploration crew.

You take on the role of a Search and Recovery Specialist, and arrive to find the space station abandoned and its relay towers offline. Your mission is simple: HQ has sent you, one of their finest soldiers, to locate the missing crew, restore the generators, bring the relay network back online, and determine what caused the communication failure. Manage your oxygen levels, your laser pistol’s battery, and put your navigation & problem-solving skills to the test as you make your way through this perpetually dark planet while completing your mission objectives. 

BLACK RELAY is designed as a compact, one-sitting horror experience focused on exploration, tension, environmental storytelling, and survival. This experience is deliberately designed to provide minimal guidance, leaving players to investigate their surroundings, interpret environmental clues, and determine how to accomplish their objectives independently. Exploration, observation, and experimentation are essential to progressing through the mission.

Black Relay contains sci-fi horror violence, blood, and gore. The player uses high powered lasers against humanoid creatures, which may result in blood effects, dismemberment, gushing of blood, and simulated corpses. The environment also contains corpses and other disturbing imagery. The game includes tense horror sequences and themes of isolation and death.

There is no sexual content, sexual violence, drug or alcohol abuse, or depiction of self-harm.
