What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We want to improve RunGun Riot with feedback from people playing real matches. Early Access will help us refine combat clarity, fighter balance, match pacing and accessibility while continuing to improve content and reliability.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We currently estimate roughly 12–18 months in Early Access after the Early Access launch. This is a working estimate, not a fixed release date. The timing will depend on progress with the planned content, multiplayer stability, balancing and player feedback.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“For version 1.0, we plan to expand the activities and choices around the core battle royale loop:

- Additional contracts with combat and crate-looting objectives, progression goals and rewards.
- Additional vendor weapons, items and power-ups, with balancing of purchases made using match currency.
- Additional district door and interior routes in the battleground, creating more ways to move between fights and reach loot.

We also plan to refine fighter and weapon balance, loot distribution and storm pacing using match feedback; improve combat visual and audio cues, accessibility options and controller menus and prompts; and improve multiplayer stability and performance.

The additional contract, vendor and district content is still in development. These are development goals; scope and priority may change with testing and community feedback. We will update this section as content is added.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“RunGun Riot is available in Early Access on Windows with keyboard and mouse controls. Season Zero is set in Caldera and includes eight starter fighters: Jumper, Blaster, Ninja, Builder, Tank, Skater, Mage and Demolitionist.

It includes Practice Range, offline bot matches and online Casual Singles and Riot Duos. Singles has 30 total combatants and Duos has 40; those totals include bots that fill unused slots. The core loop combines movement, weapons and class abilities with scavenging and a closing storm.

Online play requires internet access and a Steam account that owns the game. The current service supports at most 90 simultaneous connections shared across three active matches, with a limit of 16 connections per public IP. Busy multiroom Duos testing runs below our target pace. When the service is full, joins can receive a capacity error; an overflow waiting queue is not available yet. Busy-match performance and capacity handling are current priorities.

Online 50-combatant Mayhem, Riftwater and additional fighter picks are unavailable in this build. Additional maps, fighters and the integrated comic are outside the Season Zero release.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to offer a lower price during Early Access and increase the price for the full release as the game gains content and polish.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We plan to use Steam announcements and community discussions to share development updates and collect feedback on combat clarity, fighter balance, match pacing, accessibility and content priorities. Bug reports and playtest feedback will help us prioritize fixes and improvements. The Season 0 candidate includes REPORT A BUG on the title and pause menus. Players can describe the problem, review and edit the report, then use COPY REPORT or OPEN MAIL DRAFT to contact voyageseattle@gmail.com. Reports are sent only when the player chooses to send them.”

EIGHT STARTER FIGHTERS

Season 0 starts with Jumper, Blaster, Ninja, Builder, Tank, Skater, Mage and Demolitionist. Push an opponent, escape a bad fight, or use movement to reach a better angle.

MAKE CALDERA YOUR ADVANTAGE

Fight across connected districts, rooftops, interiors and underground routes. Take the high ground, break through cover, or set off explosive barrels to change the fight.

PRACTICE, PLAY SOLO, OR JOIN THE RIOT

Learn in Practice Range and offline bot matches, or join online Casual Singles and Riot Duos. Singles has 30 total combatants and Duos has 40, including bots that fill unused slots. Online play requires internet access and a Steam account that owns the game. The initial service is limited to 90 simultaneous connections across three active matches. When all match slots are occupied, players must retry; an overflow waiting queue is not available yet. Busy matches may run below the target pace while Early Access performance work continues.

RISK MORE. SURVIVE LONGER.
