Father's New Weapon: The Mace

Father, the formidable boss, has received a significant upgrade! He now wields a powerful Mace, a summonable weapon similar to Tarkan's sword. While the Mace doesn't have spell slots, it serves as a valuable tool for Father to defend himself in close-quarters combat.

Keep in mind that the Mace's damage is relatively low, making it more of a defensive weapon rather than a primary offensive tool.



Healer Rock: A New Threat

Introducing the Healer Rock, a formidable new enemy that poses a unique challenge. This stationary foe constantly heals nearby enemies by firing healing orbs that are visible by green popup numbers.

To defeat the Healer Rock, players must break three crystals attached to its structure using melee weapons or spells. These crystals are strategically placed, requiring careful aiming and tactical planning.

While not essential for completing the arena, eliminating the Healer Rock can significantly reduce the number of enemies you'll face, making the battle easier.




General Improvements:

  • Visual Enhancements: Fixed flickering and lighting issues in certain scenes.
  • Gameplay Tweaks: Adjusted spawn points and improved NPC behavior, including idle animations and voice volume for Vespera.
  • UI Refinements: Removed unnecessary UI pointers and added activation buttons to perks for better clarity.
  • Balancing: Changed item prices and enemy attack prediction for a more balanced economy and challenging gameplay.
  • Technical Improvements: Optimized gesture detection and fixed various bugs related to perks, spells, and items.

Tutorial Enhancements:

  • Clarity: Replaced subtitles with visual instructions for a more engaging tutorial experience.
  • Efficiency: Disabled combo spells early to streamline the learning process.

Spell and Skill Adjustments:

  • Visual and Functional Updates: Improved warding shield effects, fixed flameball explosions, and buffed ground spike damage.
  • Rune Spawning: Adjusted rune spawn settings based on stage level.
  • Skill Balance: Fixed and buffed OranJ perk and Runescription skill.

Bomb Improvements:

  • Power and Utility: Increased bomb damage, added status effects against bosses, and implemented area explosion damage.
  • Activation: Introduced a new activation method by pulling the pin.
  • Clarity: Added UI instructions for bomb activation.

Boss Improvements:

  • Visual Updates: Enhanced Reaper and Borazan shield visuals.
  • Vulnerabilities: Made Reaper and Borazan susceptible to Burn, Poison, and Freeze status effects.
  • Impairments: Slowed down Reaper and Borazan movements, attacks, cooldowns, and ranged attacks when frozen.



These significant changes aim to provide a more immersive, balanced, and engaging experience for players.

... but if you're a user of integrated AMD graphics and the game fails to launch for you, this patch might help! Here's the extensive list of changes:

* Add video memory fallback for integrated graphics chips.

🤓 Nerd note: we've noticed that we were being too picky with what kind of memory we request for our buffers and textures, requiring DEVICE_LOCAL memory. But on integrated graphics, that memory may be absent or very scarce. We'll now always fall back to host memory. We got lucky/unlucky that all the integrated chips & drivers just happened to work in our internal testing, but that's certainly not the rule.

P.S. We continue seeing crashes from owners of integrated Intel Graphics with outdated drivers. If you have Intel graphics and you ignore our driver version warning, you will almost certainly get a crash, and it's important that you update your drivers. Intel drivers were historically buggy in Vulkan, and only the recent versions work correctly.

Hello Everyone!

We are thrilled to see how many of you have played Chains of Fury since the release of its Volume I on Monday. We are also extremely grateful for all the feedback you have given us so far, and would like to ask you to keep it coming.

We are aware there are bugs still plaguing the game, but we are working on improving its technical state - we have released a patch yesterday already, and we are testing another one as we speak - which will fix several problems with saving and loading the game, as well as erroneous colliders in levels 1 and 5.

If you encounter any bugs or issues while you're playing Chains of Fury, please, report them here on Steam, or even better, come join our Discord Server - we might have follow-up questions and having an actual conversation is easiest there. If you really want to help us fix as many bugs as we can, include as much details as possible - your logs are especially helpful. You can find them in the following folder:

C:\Users\%username%\AppData\LocalLow\CobbleGames\ChainsOfFury

Just archive the contents of the folder and upload it to Dropbox or any other file-sharing platform and share the link with us, please.

Update: New Adjustments!

Police Detection: Cops no longer detect the player’s attacks through walls.

Banks: Bugs related to jewelry and bank vault money have been fixed. The player can now properly collect the money after delivering it to the hideouts.

Businessman: The businessman's guards will only attack the player after they have read the text, not before.

Dynacat's third patch has been released. This patch contains the following fixes:
  • We noticed that some users described the game's controls as sluggish and have verified that this happens with some controllers. We have updated the game to make sure the analog stick can reach its full extent on all controllers.
  • We fixed a line in the Spanish text of the game, where a random "%s" appeared after completing a special stage for the second time.

Fighting against reinforcements of SES ships has never been harder. Due to how dangerous you are, SES reinforcements have extra units and faster response times, while all you have is a faster gun and less respawn protection. Below is what has changed with Mayhem.
  • Player Shooting Delay: 0.3s → 0.17s
  • Player Shield: Cooldown 10s → 25s, Duration 3s → 7s
  • Officers: Amount 3 → 3, Response Time 3.5s → 3s
  • Brute: Amount 1 → 1, Response Time 45s → 40s
  • SWAT: Amount 5 → 7, Response Time 30s → 30s

Achievement Update
As I'm limited to 100 achievements, and I keep adding new modes + enemies that I want to dedicate achievements to, I'm continuing my plan of flushing out the old achievements. Not all of them will be removed and replaced, but many of the extremely easy ones with the old icons will be eventually replaced with better and newer ones reflecting the new modes.

As of this update, I have removed plenty of easy and simple achievements and started to replace them. Please note that any achievements with no logo are currently not in the game.
