What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“The best way to develop a game is by having a lot of feedback as early as possible. Early Access will help tailor the game and it's features for maximum enjoyment of the players.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Initial plan is to keep the game in Early Access for up to one year.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“At Early Access version launch the game will be fully playable, but it may contain some bugs, gameplay imbalance, and lack some features or polish. One feature that is planned to get added during Early Access period is Online Multiplayer. Some other examples of polishing and additions may include new Steam Achievements, Steam Workshop integration to share custom built race tracks, Modding, new game content (props, objects), and improvements to the procedural generation algorithms.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“In time of writing (2018-10-11) it's already fully playable, but lacks some in game UI screens (settings, about), and contains placeholder art here and there. It is under active development and December 2018 milestone of public Early Access should be reached with confidence.

The game is playable on all supported operating systems, release cycle is automated, all updates are coming to all systems at the same time.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Initially, there is no plan to price the game differently after early access. However, It will depend on actual sales and popularity Early Access version gets. New price may be chosen afterwards, if initial pricing will not perform well.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“There will be ample ways to give feedback about the game, in Steam Community Discussions and Reddit (/r/BloodyRallySimulator). All concerns and suggestions raised by players will be reviewed and addressed.”

Track Sharing on Steam Workshop

Great news. This feature was planned to be added after Early Access launch, but apparently, it's here already!

Starting with version 0.7.20, it will be possible to upload custom tracks from Track Editor, and subscribed tracks will be downloaded automatically, so you can play them in Quick Race, or iterate the design further in Track Editor.
  • To upload tracks, in Track Editor click File -> Upload To Workshop;
  • In race selection view, click Get More Tracks to visit Workshop;
  • Subscribe the tracks you like;
  • Subscribed tracks will appear in Quick Race and Track Editor track listings.

Enjoy!
