Why Early Access?

The Nitty:
As a self-funded small indie dev studio, there is only so much decision making you can do before you get into a certain tunnel vision.
Early access allows me to involve the community throughout the last part of our development. While the early access version will have all core-systems in place and more than 50% content of the full release it is my belief that implementing that last 50% is something we should involve the community with.

The Gritty:
I believe that Early access should not be a way to seek funding to finish a game but a way to actively engage the community and better the game.

All else:
Defense corp - Earth is aiming to be a shooter where skill matters, in order to balance the skills which are already implemented and in order to implement new skills the communities opinions/feedback will be highly appreciated and needed.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Defense corp - Earth will remain in Early access for approximately 8 months.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The following features are planned for the release of the full game:

  • 6 more characters
  • Each character will have 2 different skins with each at least 6 color variations
  • In-game origin stories and lore
  • 3 more maps in 2 variations each
  • 5 more weapons
  • Each weapon will have at least 6 different color options
  • 3 more game-modes
  • General polish and balance tweaks
  • Custom and private matches (50% done already)

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Defense corp - Earth is already in its current form is stable and has all core systems in place. Has been tested in private alpha phases and contains more content than many other Early Access games in the same genre.

In terms of features, our Early Access version offers:
  • 4 different game modes
  • 4 handcrafted maps with 2 variations of each map
  • 6 playable characters with 6 different color skins
  • 5 different color options for each weapon
  • A working matchmaking system.
  • Party play

    The game is fully playable and currently in its final stages of polishing and bug fixes.

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

EA release delayed untill further notice

Dear community,

Today we have to make an announcement that the Early Access release will be delayed until further notice. This decision was not made lightly. During our closed beta which has brought us a tremendous amount of feedback and suggestions and it was clear that there were some Core features missing which people really missed in the game.

With Defense Corp – Earth we are trying to set an old school experience. It is now clear to us that there are some features the community needs before making it complete. The game in its current state is fully playable and has 90% of the content done which was promised before EA release. But we have never seen EA as a way to earn money while delivering an experience we do not stand behind or the community thinks is lacking.
For that reason, we have decided to delay the Early Access release and re-group to see how we can best approach our new goals.
Some things which were often mentioned in the feedback:

- Nothing to “chase”
- No community servers support
- No Dedicated servers
- No Map editor

As a self-funded small Indie Team, I think we have proven we are capable of delivering quality content and keep true to our vision. A project of this undertaking is bound to undergo some changes. We will do more than our best to deliver a game the community can appreciate and love.
This does not mean that the full release is pushed back as well. But only that our EA window is going to be shorter since work is being done parallel.
In just 1 year we have built our game from scratch, implemented 75% of the maps planned, 50% of all characters and 80% of all guns. Have a working FPS framework, matchmaking server all compatible with steam made from scratch. There is no doubt in my mind that any challenges we set for ourselves are something we will be able to conquer!
We will update you guys as soon as we have a plan set in motion.

About This Game

Defense corp - Earth is a skill-based, fast-paced first-person shooter.
Choose one of the initial 6 characters and one of the 3 initial skill-sets and start playing without the hassle of a grind.

The game will be focused on fast paced but strategical game-play. Each character has access to any of the skill-sets the game will have.
With our classic game-modes, action-packed matches are ensured!

Each character spawns with a Drumrifle in hand, this is the go-to weapon for every seasoned fps player. Players can pick up more powerful guns which spawn on various locations on the map. Skilled players will learn these places by heart and the timers of each spawn-point. Power-Weapons are a "1-time-use". Once the ammo runs out they are automatically de-spawned from the player. Power-Weapons will have limited ammo, they are meant to reward players who control the map but not be overly overpowered so that a player can use one for the whole match.

Early access features:


  • Team Deathmatch - Players fight each other in two teams, the first team to reach the score limit wins or the team with the highest score when the time limit has been reached

  • Instagib - Players spawn with a sniper rifle in hand which a one-shot-one-kill weapon to engage each other in a Free for all game-mode. The first player to reach the score limit or the player with the highest score when the time limit has been reached wins the match.

  • Deathmatch - Players fight each other in a Free for all game-mode with access to Power-weapons which spawn at various places on the map. The first player to reach the score limit or the player with the highest score when the time limit has been reached wins the match.

  • Showdown - Players fight each other in two teams and try to capture a flag. A flag is spawned in the middle of the map, a point is awarded when a team picks up the flag and drops it at the enemy base. Once a team scores, the round gets reset and players start with a 5-second countdown from their initial spawn again. The first team to reach the score limit wins.
