Update 20/06/2019

Today we bring you our biggest update yet!
As a duo months of work went into this to ensure that the update would be as bug proof as possible as well as fixing existing bugs.

Let's get right to it.

Tutorial
The tutorial wasn't working properly and it didn't feel "finished" so we went back to the scratchboard. With this we came to the conclusion to completely revamp it. We also fixed the bug where the tutorial would make the game crash while at it. So right now we present to you a brand new and fresh looking tutorial!

Deep space
If you follow us on social media you might have seen the deep space sneak preview. It is a brand new level with amazing dynamic elements reacting to the music that you listen to. Killing enemies here will be truly an out of the world experience ;)

Steam time
Do you remember the pink fog level with some cogs and stuff? We completely revamped it to a new level called Steam Time. This level is one hell of a sight to behold, especially in VR.

Other changes/bug fixes
  • All highscores are saved properly and shown in at the jukebox
  • Multipliers no longer spawn once the track overview is shown
  • Visually updated start screen
  • All weapons are now properly aligned with the mouse (non-VR)
  • Fixed bug where Venom Viper would become immortal
  • Other minor bug fixes

We have also made a new trailer showcasing the 4 levels; all up-to-date. And Soundninja hooked us up with some brand new tracks as well!

Last but not least we would like to take moment to tell you about our future plans. We got some more levels planned to release, but that is not everything. We are planning to add new bosses (ranging from medium difficulty to extremely tough) as well as brand new weapons. With this will come a big revamp for the pub (where you can see your kills, level, xp, weapons and jukebox). This would bring in a lot new features especially for VR users.

If you could show us your support by purchasing the game and telling your friends about it, it would help is greatly. Essentially it means that we can spend more time working on the updates to roll them out at a faster pace. That being said the upcoming summer sale might just be the perfect moment for you to show your support towards us, more sales = more updates!

As always, updates and potential DLC's will remain free.

Update 11/04/2019

We have rolled out an update for both the demo and full version that fixes a few bugs.

In VR (both HTC and Oculus) the tutorial level can't be accessed anymore and instead will show a brief overview of the controls. This is permanent for the demo. Accessing the level caused a crash that a lot users recently reported. This had to do with an update from OpenVR. The full version will get a brand new tutorial in the new upcoming big update.

In non-VR the miniguns have been aligned properly with the mouse again.

The next big update is scheduled for early june. Small bug fixes might still roll out until then though.

About This Game

Introduction

Audio Infection or AI for short, is a casual 360° shooting game with VR support. Got tired after a rough day of work or feeling stressed out due to college? Jump in the game for some tracks to relieve stress and have a blast. You won't have to worry about ammo or lives. We don't like them either, so you are essentially immortal with an unlimited amount of ammo. Best yet, there is no reloading!
The player has to fight against various enemies. Their density and the dynamic environment is based on the rhythm of the music that you are listening to. Based on your performance the enemies will become more aggressive as well, but don't worry, they will become less dangerous if things get too tough for you. Per track you will be awarded with funds and experience, which can be used to unlock various goods.
If simply a score and funds won't cut it for you then you have the "mastery" statistic to keep track of. This indicates how well you performed in the game. Each hit taken will decrease it. Can you keep your personal high score while maintaining a high mastery? Don't forget the epic weapons while you're at it!

Enemies

AI has plenty of enemies for you in stock! Starting out with a few "not-so-aggressive" infections that will try to hit you at any cost. They however might be a little bit too easy for the more experienced players. For them we have quite a collection of unique bosses in stock. Each boss has its own mechanics where it attacks the player in certain phases, figuring out the most effective method of destroying them is up to you. Once you have finished off certain bosses you will be able to encounter their miniature equivalents. Don't be deceived by their size, they are just as dangerous.

Rewards

Once you've collected enough funds and unlocked the required level you will be able to purchase and unlock weapons in the shop. Each purchase is final. Everything is only unlockable through the in game currency. While you play you will get more experienced. This will result in better scores per track as well as eventually the option to unlock better weapons, from which we offer you plenty...

When you have defeated an enemy enough times it will show up in the pub on the wall as a trophy while keeping track of how many times it has been killed. Kill it enough times and it will look even fancier!

VR Devices supported

Currently this game supports HTC Vive with the standard Vive controllers. It also supports the Oculus Rift with the Touch controllers. Please do keep in mind that we know that not everyone has access to a VR device. With that in mind we made the game also fully playable without VR. You won't need to purchase the game twice in order to play it in VR and not VR. Just launch the game with your VR device or without your VR device and you're good to go. No need to pay twice for the same product.
