Why Early Access?

“Here at Vox Games Studios we like to develop our games around user experience and use that to focus on honing the gameplay to a more desirable finish. We polish our products to a sheen using player feedback as sandpaper. We love interacting with our fans and feel your support is absolutely neccesary in order to reach our goals by gaining feedback and suggestions that help us guide the priority of development. Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“6-9 months”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“It'll have a campaign mode, online cooperative mode, extended features and modding suites. It'll also have other planned features which will compound and expand upong the main features, like Exploration, Research (already in) technologies, landing parties, trade etc. Most of these are already in but we are adding.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current state for Early Access has:

All main features of the game are included. Space travel, exploration, research, the meeple heirarchy, security, pirates, meteors, alien squids and much more! We'll be expanding upon what's already here but for the most part everything that is in the game is "done and dusted"

We have a broad modding suite present at Early Access launch. You'll be able to make total conversions, sprite swaps, sprite sheets, animations, new furniture and anything in between!

The game has been translated into many languages in full, with a broad localization kit available to any fan who wishes to translate the game into their own language. Current languages include Russian, Chinese(simp), Spanish, French, Italian, Hungarian, Romanian, German, and Polish

The majority of the planned features for the final title are already in, with us adding new features to the mix every week. While all MAIN features are in, secondary features are still being added almost daily. Keep up with our progress via our store page or discord channel.

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes. We plan on charging more for the finished product once we hit 1.0. Currently it's available at a discounted price.”

Rendering Rework !

This week you'll notice some drastic changes to layer rendering. We're very excited about these changes as it sharpens up a lot of your experience building a space station.

This week's patch comes a little bit late. The previous week I was moving house and I'm still struggling to setup a new internet service. However, we've decided to bring both last week and this week's efforts into one single patch, and we're quite proud of it!

You can immediately notice the difference, but wait! There's more!
We've also made some significant changes in the way you can move between layers (and we have even more quality of life additions coming later on). As you swap betweens layers the camera will now follow the movement of the layer, and the lighting will transition with the layers, making it very easy on the eyes and more intuitive in general.

We've also added occlusion to tiles that block your view, so you never have another tile or item sitting in front of your current layer. The lighting on it's own adds a lot of depth, see for yourself:

These are just some of the changes we've been working on this week. There are quite a few other adjustments in game, but they're a little bit difficult to explain, such how camera movement has changed as well.

These are fresh changes, and despite how excited we are to show them off we do expect people to find a niggle here or there, so please don't hesitate to let us know! we're still working around the clock :)

Weekly patch #7 (Fresh Tutorial)

Hey everyone, dev here!

This week's patch we focused on getting a much more comprehensive tutorial finished. We know for a lot of our veteran payers this isn't a noteworthy feature, but we've noticed an unnecessarily high learning curve for most new players and we're trying our best to break things down quicker for our new meeps.

We are listening daily to requests and bug reports on discord and we've also been hammering quite a few out this week. Please feel free to jump on our server and say hi!

A lot of large things (personal things) are keeping the dev (me) wrapped up this week and next week, which means next week's patch will mostly be aimed at maintenance and minor additions to content. Thanks to everyone whose stuck by us so far! We're still working hard and Meeple Station has a lot of development planned for 2019!

Build a Space Station





Want to build a sprawling, multi levelled station that caters to your Meeple’s needs? Focus on trade, mining and research whilst keeping your hapless Meeple alive by generating power, life support wiring your station up. Set up a botany department in the basement, only to have a fuel line cut and set fire to it. Fix leaks caused by your fuel line not being maintained, or bits of your station lacking oxygen due to an open airlock. SCIENCE!

Survive pirates and meteors





Remember kids, failure is fun. When something goes wrong, it goes REALLY wrong in Meeple Station. Your officer could decide that the airlock isn’t necessary and deconstruct it, wiping out half your station, only for a stray meteor to hit your solar array, powering down your life support while everyone is snoring away in bed. Trade any of the myriad of goods you scrounge up. Become a mining station, strip mine entire quadrants and sell the runoff to a trading faction nearby but be wary of pirates and face eating space-squids.

Explore the galaxy and research new tech





Explore the galaxy in search of new resources to sell and people to meet. Go anywhere you please so long as you have enough fuel and an engine! Do you want to focus on engineering? Defence and security? Refining? Set up a research lab and hope for the best! Officers can unlock new tech, but they can be a difficult (cantankerous) bunch to appease, and if you let them, they can and will run your station into the ground! Good luck captain.
