Why Early Access?

“We want to build this game alongside the community! Much like the game’s themes revolve around cultivation and community, so do our own development ideals. The best games are built on feedback from the people who play the game. We truly believe that having a diverse playerbase experience our game early will give us all of the info and advice we need to perfect the formula.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Farm Folks will remain in Early Access until we are completely satisfied that we have delivered on our promises and created a game that the community will love for many years to come. This process can be lengthy and difficult to approximate, but we anticipate at least a year or two of Early Access.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Everything you see in the game will be refined and improved continuously throughout development. The visuals will be spruced up, bugs will be fixed, all of the promised content will be implemented, and there’ll be a healthy layer of polish applied to all aspects to seal the deal. You can expect more crops, more quests, more animals, more things to discover, and a whole bunch of surprises along the way.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Initial integration of farm management. Around 10 types of crops, 10-15 animal types, and a handful of craftable items will be available to begin with. We’ll be adding more in and balancing the costs/sale value of each item. Farm upgrades will also be limited at first.
Only a few characters will be included in early builds, and they will not be entirely finished. Major questlines and certain relationship mechanics are still being developed.
Unfinished island: many of the locations in the game will be unfinished or consist of a few placeholders. However, you will still be able to have a great time exploring what’s there now.
Visual/audio fidelity: All visuals and audio should be considered a work-in-progress until otherwise stated. We’ll be improving things as development progresses.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price will be discounted during Early Access and increase upon launch.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“As mentioned, we want to involve the community as much as possible. We will foster active discussion over on our Discord group, offer forums where fans can post ideas/suggestions/bug reports, and we’ll be running surveys and polls to get a feel for the general consensus on new features or when we need to make decisions on what to work on next.”
