What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Your early feedback is key for our further development! Early Access gives us the opportunity to involve you in that process and create a game which might not be mainstream but has the distinct flavor you'll be giving it.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We're aiming to leave Early Access roughly in Q4 2019.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The official release of the game will contain a variation of colorful maps and characters as well as additional gameplay modes, more refined visual features, and improved usability and balance based on feedback collected from players during the Early Access period.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game is fully playable in multiplayer (Steamworks integration) with one map, a handfull of characters to choose from and a very promising "Fusbol" minigame mode.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The official release will be slightly more expensive.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We’ll be listening to your feedback via the Steam forums, email and on the game’s official Discord channel.”

UpDate #3: Prison Map and DESTRUCTION!

We might have teased our next map here and there. So far, we weren't quite at a point to show you pictures, yet. However, today is the day - time for letting you guys and gals know about our progress!

The UpBreakers behind barred windows - how could it have come to this? Whatever they did (or didn't do) the objective now is to get out of this fustercluck and back to their dayjobs. Contrary to the houses they normally visit, there are no open doors in the pen so the UpBreakers have to do what they do best: wreak chaos and destruction!

The very highly sophisticated and complex engine behind the acronym D.A.S.H. (Destroy Any Structure Handling system) was conceived by our mastermind coder and will be implemented with the next huge content update.
Its sole function: MORE destruction, MORE chaos, MORE fun fun fun!

You can destroy walls in the game already! But right now this feature is limited to certain walls - the level designer has spoken and so it was. The new update will give you much more freedom to choose your own crazy ways. Basically, you could take down the whole map and never deliver a single box. Won't bring you any points, but you know: it's possible.

We really want to make the D.A.S.H. known - the D.A.S.H. has to be worshiped - the D.A.S.H. must be obeyed! So, in the prison map, there is no getting around the D.A.S.H. as there are no paths leading directly to the BOXVAC-4000, no open doors and no windows to simply jump through. Use the D.A.S.H. wisely for it will reward you. With great D.A.S.H. comes great destructibilty. Become one with the D.A.S.H. to finally - and in a deepened voice - say "I'm D.A.S.H.MAN".

We're still working on the map. There are assets yet to be forged, bytes to be coded and lights to be built. However, we feel, we're almost there. And to those of you who don't want to wait that long: We still have open spots in our closed beta (sounds contradictory, I know) and you can apply for it by simply heading over to our Discord and reading more about it in the #announcements channel.

May the D.A.S.H. be with you.

Get the Artbook: Beauties & Brainfarts

We planned this for quite a while and today it's finally here: The UpBreakers Artbook!

Since before we even started development in late 2017 we collected quite a number of sketches, artworks, assets and visual concepts. Putting them together and walking down memory lane has been a lot of fun!

What can you expect from the Artbook
  • 25 pages of visuals (sketches, artworks, concepts)
  • Anecdotes of the design and thought processes
  • Insight into the visual development
  • Much blood, sweat and tears of the developers

We hope, you'll enjoy the Artbook and look forward to your feedback!

Where to find it
Since Steam doesn't offer an easy way to make DLC files accessibe from your game collection, after you bought the DLC, you'll most likely find it here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\UpBreakers\Artbook - Beauties and Brainfarts.

“UpBreakers is a fun arcade brawler indie game perfect for an intense couch session with friends (local coop or multi), collect more items, dash, grab, throw stuff at your rivals, nice!”
Earth in the Porthole

About This Game

When hearts break and two angry singles are all that’s left from one happy couple, chaos is inevitable. High time to flee the apartment and grab as much of the stuff as you can carry! Who better to help moving out than the UpBreakers: A moving company that has also completely fallen out with each other and is breaking up failed households. The two rival companies don't spare themselves anything. Because only the team with the most transported furniture takes home the payoff in the end!

UpBreakers is an action-packed casual game for 2-4 players (up to 16 in yet unfinished online mode), who compete against each other in two teams to haul the most stuff out of the broken household during the heated move. Prepare for chaos: You’ll have to push, throw, fling and tear your way through the game. Walls? Windows? Away with it! Where the UpBreakers show up, no walls are left standing!

As a completely twisted moving assistant, you clear out the bourgeois suburban house with your friends before the other team does. Don't let the enemies screw up your victory, because they will push you around, wreak havoc and throw moving boxes until Grandma's porcelain is smahed to smithers! Fair play, respect and kindness? Wrong playce, kiddo! In this game, the masks are taken off and the pants are dropped when the players show their true and evil faces.

If you master the training course in the tutorial, you're ready for the moving chaos with your friends: UpBreakers is quickly gaining pace. In the two relocation teams, players must work together to outdo the opposing group! In front of the house of the two separated clients, everyone gets on their marks – time is ticking and the chaos is taking its course: Coordinate with your team to hand over all the moving boxes, furniture and household items as fast as possible to collect points. Leave no stone unturned in preventing the opposing team from doing the same – because when time runs out, the team with the most points wins!
