What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Early Access gives the community a chance to play with prototypes and experience the project as it develops, and in doing so offer invaluable insight to us about how the game is experienced. This will help inform our decisions as we work towards full release.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Internally we have a goal and a date set, but we don't want to announce it until we're sure the game is going to be ready.

LAST UPDATED: May 15, 2024”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version of SCP: 5K is set to encompass the fully realized narrative campaign. We have ambitious plans to deliver a comprehensive and engaging experience in the final release.

LAST UPDATED: July 9, 2023”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The first playable version as UIU operatives in Area-12 Act 1 (there will be 3), An Antarctica Mission as the GOC, Outpost Axiom, and a basic Wave Survival mode, and a PvP version Outpost Axiom. We also have included a few testing levels for various in-development mechanics.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“As a special bonus, anyone who purchases SCP: 5K during Early Access will receive the Supporter Pack for free upon the game's full release!

The pricing of the Base Edition will remain consistent for the foreseeable future. Any potential price adjustments will only be made after community consultation through a poll, ensuring that the decision is collectively supported and justified. This approach ensures that we have substantial reasons to consider any changes. It's worth noting that pricing for console releases may differ due to additional porting costs associated with third-party publishers.

Our ultimate goal is to maintain a reasonable entry point, fostering a thriving and long-lasting player community that continues to grow in the months and years ahead. We want to ensure that SCP: 5K remains accessible to as many players as possible.

LAST UPDATED: Feb 13, 2023”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

We value your input and suggestions, and we also have a dedicated platform for submitting and upvoting suggestions on our Suggestions Upvote page. Join our Discord community and share your thoughts with us!”

About This Game

The SCP Foundation has gone dark. Disturbing intel from one of the many Foundation sites, Area-12, a biological research and specialized containment facility deep underground in West Virginia, has been forwarded to the FBI, who send operatives from their anomalous branch, the UIU (Unusual Incidents Unit) to investigate before initiating the Faultline Protocol.

Upon arrival the UIU are ambushed and trapped within Area-12 by a facility wide lock-down, leaving you alone and without backup. For reasons yet unclear, Area-12 has adopted a new agenda creating weaponized hybrids of anomalies at this facility, and now the UIU must get to the bottom of “why” and stop them before these monstrosities are unleashed on innocent civilians.
