Why Early Access?

“Project Nightmares will be an excellent horror game, but we need the people get involved and make it happen. The procedural structure of the game is unique and novel in its kind.

We are a team of only two people, for us to achieve that an Indie game of this quality is completed is a difficult task, but not impossible. It is a challenge that we gladly take each day wishing that it becomes a reality.

Why is the game unique in its kind?

Project Nightmares has a structure of procedural terror in all its components, from the creation of the level, the objects, scares, every time you play it will be different. You will never know where, when, how and what will scare you.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We think the game will be finished out later this year.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The main difference will be the addition of Levels and richer functionality.
We plan to make a significant increase in the amount of items on Secondary Missions and Achievements.
We would also like to add support for more languages in the future, and we plan to gradually update our localization.

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The early access version contains the general structure of the game, you will be able to experience the sensation of organic environment. The good thing of using procedural content is that you will be able to play it as many times as you want, and you will have different experiences.”

Version 1.0.004

The version 1.0.004 has arrived
The last months have been really hard, we have been working on the main structure of the game.
We worked on the objects that will illuminate our path.
The candle can turn off when we run, on fast turns, or in some specific events.
The candle will also melt. You have to look for candles in the house in case it goes out.
If you let the candle melting completely, it could burn your hand, and you would end up releasing it.
When the candle or the object that illuminates our path goes out, the paranormal entities will be able to attack us more easily. We have some plans on this point..
You must keep the X key pressed to see how many candles you are carry.


The game will have several easter eggs, and we have added some new ones.
The environment will now change, the sections of the house could change every time you play. Remember, it's a nightmare.


We added a console that can be opened with F1. To watch the available codes, type "Nightmares." and the autocomplete will show you the options availables.
You can check the fps in the game with Nightmares.Showfps. To remove the fps you must type Nightmares.Hidefps
We added some new models in the house.


Corrections
In these months we have fixed many bugs, and the game is much more stable
Some bugs have been fixed in the gameplays.
Bugs were corrected in the main character, sometimes when opening doors he was decapitated lol :P
We fix a bug where the decapitated entity was spawned in impossible places
Foot slip corrected (All the animations still need to be corrected, the final version will have mocaps or that is what we want, we are collecting money for this point)
We fix the shake when Henrietta killed us face to face, that was happening in some hardwares.


In another thread
We are working on new environments in the house, new paranormal entities. Some are already finished, others are being modified.
This will come only in the final version. We are creating new achievements, new missions, and they will not be easy.


What's next?
From now on, we are gonna made updates much more often.
We will release the parameters in the options menu, graphics, keyboards, etc.
We are gonna transport this option menu to the gameplay so you could change the parameter inside the game just like other games.
A new mission will come. Henrietta animations will be fixed, new models are being created and much more ...

READ BEFORE BUYING: IMPORTANT

Everyone who buys the game in Early Access is buying the final game

We check steam every day and saw that most of the negative votes are refered to the price and the short duration of the game in early access.
Those who buy "Project Nightmares" in early access, are buying "Project Nightmares" cheaper, because when the final game be published, its price will increase.
If you buy the game now, you will have a short mission, it is true, but when the game will be published with all the new features you will receive it at no cost since the publication will be an update with all the content on which we are working.

The advantage of having the game in Early Access is that you can play the updates, see the changes in the game, discuss them, help improve the experience in the game, and you save money. We are open to new ideas that improve the experience of terror.

The story of the game and some specific mechanics will be shown at the time of publication. We don't want to spoil the story.

About This Game

A group of scientists with knowledge of the paranormal, develop a machine that allows them to induce sleep on a patient with psychic abilities and also connect them to a malignant object.
Project Nightmares is in charge of investigating these objects, discovering their history, and attempting to eradicate their evil.



In this first part, we find the case of Henrietta Kedward, a toy with a dark past connects us to this terrible old woman, and we find ourselves in a nightmare set in her era, surround by terror and mystery.



Every time you play, Project Nightmares will be different. The design was created so that the gaming experience changes constantly. Beyond the excellent story line, the player will never know what is going to happen.
