What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Fishery is a very complicated game and we need as many people playing it at an early stage as possible. We also want to cultivate a very active community who cares a lot for the game and is willing to help us shape its development.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“That is difficult to predict. Our original thoughts were that the game would be in Early Access for just over a year. Now we think it might be several years. We have already received so much great feedback from players. That feedback has led us to add new features and modify existing ones in ways that we never envisioned. The game is much better for it so our plan is to take things as they come and let the game grow organically.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full game will contain much for features and art content. We are updating the game with these almost every week. The game will also have a fairly large career mode where players start with nothing and progress through a series of career paths where they can unlock new items.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Currently the only game mode is a sandbox mode and we don't have all of our art content just yet but there are a lot of systems in the game that work very well. Overall game stability is quite good and the game does not suffer from any severe performance issues that we know of.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes, during Early Access the game is being sold at a much lower price.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Absolutely yes. Already the community has given us a huge amount of feedback and ideas. Much of it has made it into the game already and there is a long list of things suggested by players that will make it into the game in the future.”

About This Game

Fishery is a creative aquarium simulation and management game.

Species

Almost all the fish and plants that are in the game are created to imitate their real life counterparts. The art style of the game is very stylistic but we aim to make every species recognizable to people familiar with the hobby.

  • 18 species of fish with a total of 33 individual fish as most fish species have a unique male and female variant
  • 17 species of plant with a total of 51 individual plant models to help bring more variety to each species

Creativity

Every aquarium can tell a story. Create dramatic rocky landscapes, thick aquatic jungle or even a scene showing the rusting carcass of a sunken machine. It's up to you to create the unique world that your fish inhabit.

  • 85 decorations and utilities to help you create unique designs

Substrate

The substrate is an important part of any aquarium. It can be sculpted to make a dramatic landscape for fish and plants to inhabit

  • 11 substrate materials

Backdrops

The environment that your aquarium sits in can be key to bringing your creative vision to life.

  • 4 types of backdrop themes each with multiple customization options

Plumbing

Fishery's unique plumbing system allows you to finely tune the water conditions for every aquarium you create. Maintaining balanced water chemistry is the key of keeping a successful aquarium. In Fishery that can be done naturally or by artificial means. You can decide on the methods used to achieve the perfect ecological balance.
