Why Early Access?

“Starwake is an ambitious multiplayer game built arounda variety of puzzles, crew-based starships, a player-driven economy, and a persistent universe shaped by its community. I want to develop Starwake alongside the people who play it, using their feedback to improve the game and determine which areas need the most attention. Early Access will allow me to build a stronger relationship with the playerbase while continuing to develop the game based on player feedback.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I currently plan for Starwake to remain in Early Access for around one year. This timeframe is an estimate, and development needs may change as I receive feedback and continue improving the game.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“I plan to expand Starwake with new content, activities, and mechanics throughout Early Access. My current plans include eight additional starships, a dangerous but rewarding event called Zarina invasions, more profession puzzles, additional minigames, and player-owned homes. I also plan to give station governors more control over their stations through decoration and upgrade systems.

Beyond these additions, I intend to introduce a variety of other mechanics, improve existing features, and balance the game based on player feedback. My goal is to create an expanding universe with more opportunities for player-driven activity. The exact scope and timing of these additions may change as development progresses.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version of Starwake is a playable multiplayer sci-fi MMO. Players can create characters, fly ships, and explore a universe containing 75 star systems. The game features crew stations and duty puzzles, combat and weapon puzzles, mining, resource gathering, crafting, shipbuilding, and player trading. Players can also pursue business careers, advance through navy ranks, and participate in PvP and station blockades. ”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Starwake will be free to play during Early Access and will remain free to play after its full release. I intend to keep the game accessible to players throughout its development and beyond.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community feedback will be an important part of Starwake's development. Players will be able to share suggestions and discuss the game through Steam Discussions and Discord, report bugs through the in-game reporting system, participate in player surveys, and provide feedback directly to the developer. I will use this feedback to help identify problems, improve existing features, and balance the gameplay.”
