What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Ring of Elysium is a multiplayer online battle royale shooter. We need more feedback to create a better polished game. With players joining the game earlier, we can understand our players better and adjust the final version accordingly.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Early Access will last for approximately 3 - 6 months, depending on the development schedule.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The final version will provide a refined battle royale mode, polished features, and fine-tuned gameplay balance. We will also implement new features including player progression systems, and several casual game modes.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access build provides one battle royale mode on a snow mountain map. Mode rules and gameplay features are full and operational. Basic systems are fully-featured, including matchmaking, friends, cosmetic item collection and more. Server operation and client stability are in great shape. This build has gone through a closed-beta period with several thousands of participants and overall user experience was proven to be very good.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The game will be permanently free, during and after Early Access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We will monitor feedback from the community on a daily basis and reply promptly. Players are welcomed to send ideas and suggestions directly to our email We will read them intently and implement good ones in our game.”

A Reply to Some Great Player Suggestions Vol. 3

Dear players,

Since our Season Two major update on Jan. 16th, we have received tons of suggestions and feedback from players. Thank you so much to the new and veteran players who joined us to celebrate this new update to experience the beauty of Europa Island! We can't express our appreciation enough for all of your enthusiasm, feedback and support.

Today, the Dev team went through the feedback and held an in-depth analysis and discussion. Thus, we decided to write this post to answer some of your questions, explain our thought process behind our decisions and announce some changes that we will be making in the near future.

We want to let players know that the ROE Dev team takes your experience and feedback very seriously and we will continue to try our best to improve the game in all aspects. We hope everyone enjoys this post and keep the feedback coming! Let's get started.

Average FPS dropped and unstable client after the update
Some players stated that after the update, the average amount of FPS they're getting on the Europa Island map is much lower compared to the Mt. Dione map, and some have even countered client freezes and crashes.

First of all, please rest assured that the continuous optimization of the client, including the development of DX12 related functions, has always been our top priority. We have specifically posted a [FPS/Optimization issue PC info collection Megathread] on our Steam discussion forum and subreddit for the players experiencing related issues. Please help us out by providing some basic hardware information if you are currently experiencing framerate issues.

Based on the feedback we got so far, we found that most players who have encountered this issue are using an AMD processor or graphics card. Our devs will contact AMD's technicians as soon as possible and try to fix the related issues. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience, thank you for your understanding and support!

Potential balance issues of the traversal equipment on the Europa Island map
Since the launch of the new map, we noticed that many players expressed their love for the BMX bike and Grappling hook. However, some players also reported that the Glider isn't really viable on the new map due to the height variations of the terrain not being on the same level as the Mt. Dione map. We will continue to pay close attention to this issue, and we will be buffing the underused traversal equipment based on the feedback and the in-game data we collect, stay tuned!

Grappling hook:
Some players have told us that using the grappling hook, they could grapple onto a tree, jump, and stand on the top of the tree, which really affects the game balance in a bad way. We agree on this, we will do some evaluation as soon as possible, and make some changes regarding this issue.

About the artistic style and color of the Europa Island map being too bright/saturated:
Some players gave us feedback on the artistic style of the Europa Island map, especially in terms of color, which was a little too saturated and caused problems for them. Our art team will evaluate this issue, make some minor adjustments to the map's color presentation, and optimize the overall lighting.

We would also like to remind everyone that if you are using the "Vibrant" rendering style in the game settings, you might want to consider switching that option to "Realistic" to get a color style that suits you better.

In addition, since our color designs are based on default settings, if you have adjusted the "Digital vibrance" setting in your NVIDIA Control Panel, you might also want to lower that setting to get a color style that suits you better.

That's it for this issue's reply. We will continue to pay attention to your feedback and suggestions, do assessments and discussions, and post more announcements like this. Thank you again for your enthusiasm and support. See you next time!
