Why Early Access?

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I work on MewnBase in my spare time so it's a little difficult to estimate how long it'll take to get the game "feature complete,” but I'm hoping by the end of 2019 it'll be ready for a 1.0 release.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version of MewnBase will be a more fleshed out and polished experience. It will have more content added to the existing systems in game, new features that give you more ways to play, more things to do, and more ways to build your base to survive. Some examples of include:

• Additional biomes with new resources to discover and collect.
  
• More base modules to construct.
  
• Some creatures, both passive and hostile.
  
• More environmental hazards.
  
• More vehicles.
  
• Better audio and gameplay music.
  
• Updated, community-driven localization.

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“MewnBase has been in development since 2016, and is currently somewhere between an Alpha and Beta stage. It has a lot of core features already in place, a decent menu and in-game UI, and it has a lot of good stuff for shorter length gameplay sessions. It has expansive world generation, crafting, weather, researching, and some cute art.

It definitely needs more later-stage gameplay features and events, while striking the balancing between keeping survival challenging enough, while not overly punishing or irritating.

I'm constantly attempting to iron out bugs and address the occasional compatibility issue with certain drivers and OS settings.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes. The game will will start on Early Access at a lower, discounted rate. As development continues and new content is added the price will slowly rise accordingly.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Involving the community in gameplay testing and collecting feedback is super important to the development of MewnBase. Through the MewnBase community forums and Discord channel, I want to make sure players have the ability to provide feedback things such as: the general balancing and difficulty, figuring out what parts of the game need to be explained more clearly or shown in the tutorial, suggestions on features for new tiles and base modules, and helping find platform-specific bugs that are sometimes hard to reproduce.”
