“I can recall many times I involuntarily smiled as I saw what the level designers came up with. Those exhilarating moments of discovery and excitement – the moment you see the approach the designer took – are what will stick with me when I look back on my time with Klaus.”
8.25 – Game Informer

“Klaus is, in a word, brilliant. While it may not exactly win the hearts of those who don’t like the 2D platformer style, it’s an expertly-designed addition to the genre that creates a challenging experience without ever seeming insurmountable.”
9 – Twinfinite

“Few games manage to combine action and storytelling so seamlessly. Klaus is a great example that no matter what genre a title is in, a fantastic story can be told. La Cosa Entertainment has crafted a delightful experience here that manages to surprise the player with every new stage, and tests both your reflexes and wit.”

About This Game

Klaus is a precision-based puzzle 2D platformer with a self-aware narrative. Its tight & challenging platforming takes inspiration from precise classics games combined with a tense and emotionally engaging story.

Klaus is discovering his identity while trying to escape from the basement. Through his journey he’ll discover who he is, what Klaus means and how he ended up there. Jumping spikes, Hacking computers and avoiding danger, Klaus will tell his story in a non-interruptive way. The story develops while you play.

In the game, you’re not Klaus, you’re his companion. Klaus acknowledges your presence and wonders with you about his way to escape and what left him there. His personality can be volatile in vulnerable moments because Klaus has his own agenda. He might not always want to do what you want. After all, who wants to die by others mistakes?

During your journey, a friendly guy called K1 will join to Klaus and you. K1 is a brawl character, with his destructive nature, he’s able to smash obstacles and do Shoryukens with no sweat. Klaus and K1 can be played separated or cooperate to solve puzzles. Each character has his own motifs and arcs. Sometimes they’ll be together or split apart.

Throughout the game Klaus will remember his past through interactive memories. Each memory is playable in a unique way with different mechanics than other sections of the game. Just like in real life, the dreamy worlds of the memories don’t follow the same rules of the rest of the game.
