What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Aim Lab is in very early development. As a small team of lifelong gamers, we are well aware that many of the best ideas come directly from the community. Since day one, we have prioritized community feedback and used it to rapidly improve Aim Lab. By opening our beta program up to more users through Early Access, we are excited to continue to build alongside a larger community.

That being said, because it is in very early development and we are progressing rapidly (2-3 builds per week), there will be bugs and missing features. Please only purchase Aim Lab during Early Access if you want to help support development and provide feedback to the team.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Our beta community has already been incredibly helpful and therefore accelerated our initial timeline to release in Early Access by several months. Although we only anticipate spending the next 6-8 months in EA, we will remain in EA for as long as necessary.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version will feature:

Many more tasks
More maps
More weapons (projectile and hitscan)
Customizable and shareable weapon physics/behaviors, tasks, AI targets, and training routines
Additional enemy AI behaviors
More in-depth data visualizations and analysis”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current Early Access version of the game today includes the fundamental Aim Lab graybox environments as well as Aim Lab: Battle Royale maps and Battle Royale-specific tasks. There are a total of 15 training tasks across both maps, with new adaptive tasks being added constantly (currently at a pace of 2-3 per month). In-depth player data profiles, leaderboards, achievements, custom crosshairs, and cross-game mouse sensitivity conversion is also live. Pistol, revolver, assault rifle, shotgun, and sniper rifles are all available with ADS/zoom capability.

Aim Lab: Team Shooter maps, weapons, and tasks will be available as a DLC in Early Access very soon.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Aim Lab is now free!”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We have a very interactive relationship with our community and look forward to you joining it!

We listen. We conduct weekly “Roadmap Priority” polls where members of the community vote for, or add their own, features that they believe are the most important to be added/fixed.

We are responsive. We have a very active Discord community (https://discord.gg/aimlab) where you can chat with us daily, connect with other players, and see real-time dev updates, screenshots, and video.

We are developing rapidly. We currently average 2-3 game updates per week over the last 3 months.

We value your input everywhere. Our new logo was voted on and chosen by the community.

Purchasing the EA version of the game will also give you access to our private Steam forums.”

Reviews

“After just 90 minutes with a beta version of the software, I learned that I perform better with pistols and tend to overaim when moving my cursor left to right. According to Aim Lab ’s internal metrics, I raised my pistol accuracy from 67 percent to 77 percent and my rifle accuracy from 28 percent (yes, I’m that bad) to 60 percent. That feels like a dramatic improvement for a casual player using a beta version of the software for less than two hours.”
