What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Dark Skies is a very personal Project that has been taking much more time and effort than I expected. I am creating this game all by myself.
During Development I had to make serious cuts in terms of level design and scripting to remain a decent framerate and stability.
The Game is made in the GameGuru Engine - An engine that is known for massive memory problems, bad AI, poor framerate and lack of customisation options. Also the graphics are quite outdated but that's why I love the engine. I am no big Fan of today's games where its all about fancy graphics. In my opinion, many games are lacking unique atmosphere today.

My Goal is to create a special experience like the old STALKER games (wich I am a massive Fan of) This project is like my own loveletter to stalker and creating this game is like a dream for me. I also want to proove that a decent Game can be made with GameGuru if you just put enough effort in it.
I want to start in Early Access so I can get a better feedback from people playing on various systems and improve the game based on the community's reports. Early access also gives me the chance to work with a slightly bigger budget and invest more in voice actors and 3d media.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I want to complete the base Game Missions and Story within a reasonable time frame.
I have declared a specific amount of time in the past but it is better to leave it open and work on the game properly instead of fulfilling a time goal just for the sake of it.
I will be working on this in my spare time besides my real life job and I will do my best to improve it.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The Final Version will have a complete Story.
The Goal is to have around 10 different maps and levels wich tell a complete story when finished.
I also want to take everything into account that might come up as recommendations or bug reports by players of the game.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game contains 6 complete missions, combat against a variety of enemies, dialogue and Quests. The Game also features dozens of unique, animated weapons.
The playtime is about 2 hours at the moment and the overall work is about 60% done.

It will have bugs, crashes, unstable framerate and bugs with AI.
The Story campaign is not complete - I will add additional missions during early access phase.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The Game will have a lower price as long as it is in early access.
The Final Price will be decided by the time the product is ready to be in final release. But it will definitely be a bit higher.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I will listen to every feedback that might come up!
Players can write in the steam discussion boards and I will look at every post.
There will be a Dark Skies Discord Server, for feedback and interaction purposes.
I am looking forward to what people might say!
I want to make the most enjoyable game possible in the gameguru Engine while working more closely together with the players.”

Dark Skies: The Nemansk Incident - is the 2nd Project of Indie Game Developer "DK Productions".
It was planned in 2016 right after the release of "Hunted: One Step Too Far".
While the game was praised for its great and creepy atmosphere, it was also criticized for it's technical flaws and lack of in-depth gameplay.

I aimed to improve on every aspect and learned new ways to achieve great environmental coherence and atmosphere.
Along the ride I gained more and more experience on how to make your game unique and fun to play.
Still, this game is ment to be hard and challenging. Surviving in this surreal world should not be an easy task.
I tried my very best creating this game and I hope you enjoy it!
