What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We had a great experience running the original Train Valley in Early Access. It helped us to improve the game, tune the balancing and add new features. As a result, we're looking forward to working with the community again to make Train Valley 2 the best it can be.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Currently, we plan to be in Early Access for one year.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version of Train Valley 2 will contain:
- 50 levels;
- 6 generations of locomotives;
- A fully-functional Level Editor with Steam Workshop integration;
- Modding support.
And of course, we will pay a great deal of attention to balancing the existing core mechanics.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game is playable now, and contains the following features:
- 20 levels.
- 4 generations of locomotives.
- Level Editor (will be available for players during Early Access).”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The game's price will increase after Early Access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We'll engage with the community primarily on Steam forums. We are eagerly waiting your feedback on both new features and the balancing of core gameplay. We'll also need help with testing the Level Editor, and the modding tools when they're ready.”

Best Level Contest #2 - Results!

Hello, everyone! We have carefully played and studied all the 37 maps you have sent for the second contest and the response has been huge. The number of entries is two times bigger than the first one so, let us tell you how happy we are with your enthusiasm! We're really astonished with the variety of the levels you have submitted! Some of them were really hard (thanks to @InfoSoph for his works), some were fun to discover (thanks, @mutantz), there were even levels-jokes (thanks to @mj_wils1970 for the self-playing levels). But they all share the same trait: they are definitely creative! So thank you very much!
But every contest should have the winners and here are finalists chosen by devs:

3rd place: :tv2conductor: @The Good, The Bad and The Dudley - :tvloco: Walking on the Milky Way
Very creative way of use existing assets for creating unique setting. Nice balance, fun to play! Congratulations!
:tvhook: Reward: t-shirt.

2nd place: :tv2conductor: @monoRAIL - :tvloco: Channel Tunnel
Very solid and pleasant level. Creative layout, greatly balanced. Really good quality. Congrats!
:tvhook: Reward: t-shirt or hoodie + cap.

1st place: :tv2conductor: @Ltwaffle - :tvloco: All for Science
The winner in terms of balance, visual look and gameplay experience. Great job!
:tvhook: Reward: t-shirt or hoodie + cap + Mashinky steam key (thanks to author Jan Zeleny).

Special prize: :tv2conductor: @h2onik - :tvloco: Warsaw Uprising 1944
We were touched by the historical theme of the map and the absolutely creative use of Store production! Well done!
:tvhook: Reward: t-shirt

Thank you guys for all the levels you have published! It has been a really enjoyable journey! So enjoyable that we decided to move on. We want to support your creativity on regular basis, so we are going to introduce Weekly and Monthly contests! We'll share with you all the details soon!
Thank you very much for participation and congratulations to the winners!
