What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We have been working on the product for 5 years, but creating an MMORPG is a monumental task especially with a relatively small team. We have created a product that we feel is extremely engaging and fun to play. However, we still have work to do with regards to bug fixing, polish, and fully realizing the vision of Legends of Aria.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We plan to stay in Early Access until we feel the game is relatively bug free and all of our features are at 100% complete. Our current estimate is 6 to 12 months from our Early Access Launch date.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Throughout Early Access, we will be treating Legends of Aria as a live product with ongoing support, regular content updates and bug fixes.

We will leave Early Access when we feel like all of our existing features are polished and well balanced. We also will make sure the majority of the bugs are resolved and the gameplay experience is as smooth as possible.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Legends of Aria right now is a fully playable fantasy MMORPG. Character progression takes the form of gaining skill by performing actions, gaining experience points that go towards training new abilities, and acquiring money and items.

The world is massive with 4 cities, 4 smaller towns, 5 dungeons (one of them, Catacombs, is a massive raid dungeon), tons of interesting places to discover and explore.

Combat professions can complete missions, hunt the various hunting spots on the map, or adventure in dungeons.

Non-combat professions are primarily focused on harvesting resources and crafting items. Crafters can complete "crafting orders" for NPCs to learn new recipes and make money.

Player housing is a big part of the game. You can either buy a house from another player or build one yourself. To build a house you must first acquire a land deed, place it down on an empty flat piece of land, then you must get a housing blueprint, place it down, then bring the required resources to the plot to complete construction. Any item acquired in the world can be used as a housing decoration.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“MMORPGs and even more so fully persistent sandbox MMORPGs rely heavily on active population. Our plan is to gradually reduce the price of the game over time to reduce the barrier to entry as in-game digital item sales grow to support the ongoing development of the product.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We will continue to work closely with our community to determine priorities for our development team. We use a variety of channels to accomplish this including our in-game bug reporting system and feedback forums.”

About This Game

Legends of Aria is a sandbox MMORPG with a living, breathing world defined and shaped by its player community. It is a world of dangers where bonds are forged -- and broken -- by players writing their own stories.

Legends of Aria is a sandbox fantasy MMORPG that returns to a true skill-based system, so you can build your character your way. There are no levels to grind through - hone your abilities by practicing your choice of over 30 unique skills, be you a crafter, a monster slayer, or an adventurer.

Explore a true open world without limitation. Build, explore, and adventure with thousands of players in a world defined by you. Join forces with a friendly guild, swear allegiance to an ancient faction, or set out on your own personal quest for glory.

Put your skills to the test against ancient gods, great dragons, roaming enemies - and your fellow players. Legends of Aria is a game where players create the content, whether that content starts out as a violent vendetta against an enemy guild or an arduous trek through the perilous wilderness.

Much of the game world is safe from the harsh life of open PVP, but lawless regions still exist - and in those areas, anything goes. You might uncover untold treasures out there, but are you willing to take the risk?

Claim a plot, purchase a blueprint, and gather building materials to create a home of your own. Use items found throughout the world, or craft specialty items, to customize your house and stand apart from your neighbors. Set up a shop to profit off items you’ve crafted or found during your travels.
