About This Game

About this game

The Belmont Grand closed in 1972. Somebody still keeps the lights on.

Christmas Eve, 1977, 11:48 PM. You are a journalist who came to the hotel for a story, and an invitation brought you to its top floor. The elevator is the only way through the building, and it does not always go where you ask.

Every floor has a rule. Some are announced. Some you find out the hard way. Stay low where the paintings are watching. Don't leave the cabin when you are told not to. The hotel warns you before it hurts you; whether you listen is up to you.

He walks the halls. The manager never left. He limps, he carries his keys, and he is always somewhere you are not looking.

What you carry: a lighter for the dark floors, a cassette player for the tapes you find, a steno pad for your notes and a pocket watch that keeps your stay.

Features

  • Low to Ultra graphics presets; Ultra adds ray-traced shadows with DLSS / FSR

  • Cinematics framed the same on every screen shape, ultrawide included

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

Floor 21 uses generative AI tools during development. All AI-generated content was created ahead of time, reviewed and edited by the developer, and ships as fixed content in the game. Nothing is generated while you play.

- Voices: the character voices (the narrator, the journalist, the other characters and the cassette recordings) were made with ElevenLabs text-to-speech, using voices designed for this game.
- Sound and music: many sound effects and the music were generated and then mixed and edited by the developer.
- Opening cinematic: the illustrated intro uses artwork and short animations made with AI image and video tools, then assembled, retouched and timed by hand.
- 3D models: some character and creature models started as AI-generated meshes and were then rigged, textured and animated for the game.

The hotel, the gameplay, the story and the writing are made by the developer.

Mature Content Description

The developers describe the content like this:

Floor 21 is a psychological horror game. It contains:
- Horror and tension: frightening sequences, sudden scares, darkness and a pursuing supernatural figure. The player character can die; deaths cut to a title card and are not shown graphically.
- Mature themes: the hotel's backstory refers to deaths, including the death of a child, a suicide and fatal accidents. These are mentioned in narration and recordings, never shown.
- Artistic nudity (optional, off by default): some period oil paintings in the hotel depict nude figures. They are hidden unless the player turns them on in Settings.

There is no sexual content.
