About This Game

A boy wakes on the rocks of a drowned fishing town. It is night, it is raining, and the Men are out with their lanterns, collecting the town’s children.

Stay out of the light. Swim without a sound. Find your way.

SPARES is a dark, story-driven 2.5D platformer told without a single word. Moody, shadow-soaked visuals and an ambient soundtrack build an eerie, unsettling world where every light could give you away and every splash could be your last. Hide, sneak and run through a town that has found something terrible to sell.

The developers describe the content like this:

SPARES is a horror game about a town that sells its children. You play a young boy who can be killed in many ways. Deaths are quick and the worst of each is kept in shadow or off-screen, but there is blood. The game shows the bodies of dead children and children held captive and drugged. There is no sexual content.
