Thrust, drift, brake and line up your next shot. Starsunder is a 2D top-down spaceship shooter where positioning matters as much as firepower. Choose a ship and pilot whose handling, bonuses and special abilities suit the way you fly.

Dive into The Descent

Take on a solo campaign of generated caves. Follow clear objectives, fight through enemy formations and guardians, then reach the dock to extract. Spend banked salvage on upgrades, push deeper for another haul, or surface to secure what you have earned. A lost dive costs the salvage you have not banked, so knowing when to leave is part of the challenge.

Find your fight

Play against bots or join casual online matches for two to eight players. Seven arenas bring different challenges, from close-quarters labyrinth battles to boss assaults, planetary defence and racing. Race cleanly to build speed, and chase your personal best and local ghost. Climb the PlayFab ladder or enter free casual tournament brackets.

Know your kit

Each playable ship pairs an offensive skill with a defensive skill. Browse the in-game Skills guide for effects and damage values, then combine your ship with a pilot's stat bonuses. Play with keyboard controls or a compatible gamepad.

Before you fly

- The solo campaign and personal race records are saved locally on your device.
- Online play requires an internet connection and a Starsunder account through PlayFab.
- PlayFab rankings and casual tournament brackets use client-reported match results.
- Tournaments have no entry fee; played tournaments award the configured XP/Flux prizes.
- Completed regular matches against opponents award XP and Flux; unranked matches earn half rewards.
- Steam achievements and Steam Cloud are not included.
