About This Game

When the whole city is swallowed by “anomalies” that defy all reason, conventional weapons become useless. The only way to survive the end of the world is to fight the uncanny with the uncanny.

Terminal Asylum is a turn-based roguelike deckbuilder built on urban legends.
To keep investigators from losing their minds at the sight of monsters, Lucy, the Asylum's director, developed the Cognitive Filter, which makes every unspeakable horror appear as a girl. You play Yan Xiaochu, a field agent with no memory of her past and the only one who can seal anomalies into cards. Your orders: leave the Asylum and walk into a city that has already fallen.

Deckbuilding built around containment
Most card games only let you pick new cards after a fight. Terminal Asylum brings capture and containment right into its turn-based battles.
Weaken any anomaly girl you meet along the way, and you can roll the dice to try to contain her on the spot. Succeed, and your former enemy becomes a card in your deck, ready to fight at your command in the battles to come.

Sanity management and dice duels
Every action on the battlefield, whether summoning an anomaly, holding your line or using a skill, costs sanity (SAN).
Sanity cuts both ways. The closer your mind is to breaking, the more ferocious and powerful your anomalies become, but once your sanity hits zero, the investigation is over. With two-dice clashes deciding attack and defense, and the choice to Guard or Dodge, every turn asks you to weigh playing it safe against going all in.

Explore a fallen city and uncover multiple endings
As the investigation unfolds, you'll set out from the silent Old Town and push deeper into a hospital, an abandoned underground transit network and the broadcast district at the heart of the city.
Every run generates a new route, full of elite enemies, black-market merchants, rest stops and anomaly events drawn from urban legends. Run after run, choice after choice, you'll quell the source of the disaster in each district, piece together the past Xiaochu has lost, and uncover the truth hidden behind Terminal Asylum on the way to very different endings.
