About This Game

Beat her down, contain her, make her fight for you

The world has been wrecked by anomalies. The Asylum gives its field agents a cognitive filter that makes every anomaly look like a cute girl, but cute doesn't mean harmless.
You're Yan Xiaochu, the only agent who can seal an anomaly into a card. Winning a fight isn't the end of it: knock her below half health, roll the dice and contain her. Whoever you contain becomes one of your cards for the next fight.

Sanity is all you've got

  • Playing cards, keeping units on the field and using skills all cost SAN. No energy bar, no action points, just this one number.
  • Drop below 40 and your allies hit harder. Drop below 20 and you're the one about to crack. When to save and when to gamble is your call.
  • Each round you can discard a card to win back a little sanity, or put stamina into the containment roll to raise your odds.

Five slots, two dice

  • Each side has five slots. Read who the enemy is about to hit, then decide who stands in front. Every card acts once per round.
  • Each attack has both sides roll two dice. When you're the one being hit, you choose to defend or dodge, and the buttons tell you how much health you'll lose and your chance to dodge.
  • Bosses have two or three phases and their own rules: some call out a target, some make you break their guards before you can reach them.

Build the deck your way

127 cards, 54 relics, 36 anomalous consumables. Stack shields and let them come to you, grind enemies down with erosion, cycle cards nonstop, or push your sanity low on purpose and trade your life for damage. Some advanced cards have active skills, and the timing is all yours.
Save your favourite decks, or send the deck code to a friend so they can copy your homework.

No two runs are the same

Every run builds a new route of branches, shortcuts, elites, rest stops, shops and urban-legend events. Open a door, and there might be an extra set of chopsticks on the table, with your name written on the chair.
Risky event choices are settled with dice. The cost and the odds are written on each option, and the odds depend on your stamina, sanity and injuries at the time. A Source anomaly waits at the end of each of the four chapters, and the first three rotate between runs.

Falling isn't wasted

Your Archives, research and upgrades all carry over, so the next run starts with cards that suit you better.
Beyond the main story there's Endless Mode: build a team from the girls you've contained and fight your way down floor by floor to see how far you get.

The story

You wake up remembering nothing. Lucy, the white-haired director, says you're Yan Xiaochu, that an anomaly contaminated your memories, and that she wiped them. "I may have deleted a bit too much."
A rescue team in the Old Town has gone silent, and a street broadcast keeps telling people to "proceed to the end of the street." Follow it through the Seventh Hospital and the Underground Transit Network, all the way to the building the whole city can hear it from.
Some things come back to you after enough trips out the door.
