What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Vorynth: Ashfall is being developed by a two-person team. The core game is already playable, and we want to develop it with feedback from players who enjoy turn-based combat, character builds and the hunt for better loot. Early Access will help us test balance, progression, co-op stability and usability across a wider range of players and hardware.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We currently expect Early Access to last approximately 6 to 12 months. This is an estimate, and the timing may change as development and player testing progress.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to expand the story and world while improving the systems already in the game. Our goals include more encounters and content, better presentation and onboarding, and continued work on balance, stability and online play. The scope and order of these improvements may change as we learn from player feedback.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current development build includes twelve playable classes, grid-based turn-based combat, an overworld and hand-built dungeons, loot and equipment progression, reforging, the Proving Grounds and higher difficulty tiers. The first four acts of the main story are playable. Players can adventure solo offline or join an online party of up to four players, with trading, account mail and optional PvP duels. Offline and online characters are separate. Balance, presentation, onboarding and server stability remain in development. See the About This Game section for an overview of the current systems.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to increase the price when the game leaves Early Access. Buying during Early Access includes the full release when it becomes available.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We welcome bug reports, build discussions and feedback through our Discord community. We plan to use player reports and testing to guide balance, usability and stability improvements, and to share development progress with the community.”

About This Game

THE EXPEDITION: Twelve heroes. A silent continent.

Vorynth: Ashfall is a turn-based fantasy looter where every expedition is a chance to find the next piece of your build. Choose one of twelve classes, explore hand-built dungeons and spend your action points carefully. Play solo offline or join up to three friends online.

GAMEPLAY PREVIEW: Glimpses of the Silence

One year ago, all contact with Vorynth was lost. You arrive at Military Camp North as part of an expedition sent to discover what happened. Beyond the palisade lie abandoned settlements, frozen wastes, desert tombs and enemies with their own reasons to hold the land. Follow The Silence of Vorynth through its first four acts as you venture deeper into the continent.

TURN-BASED COMBAT: Every turn counts.

Combat takes place on a grid. Read the turn order, choose your position and decide how to spend your action points. Hold a narrow passage, line up an arrow or combine spells and elemental effects. An extra attack can finish a fight—or leave you without enough movement to get out of danger.

SOLO OR ONLINE CO-OP: Fight together.

Explore offline with one hero, or form an online party of up to four players. Share quest progress and kill credit, trade equipment, send item parcels and challenge other players to opt-in PvP duels. Offline and online characters are separate; offline gear and progress do not transfer into online co-op.

A Knight, Druid and Ranger explore a dungeon together.

LOOT, EMBLEMS & REFORGING: Spoils of the Silence

Hunt for set pieces, Legendaries and boss Uniques. Compare affixes and powers, socket jewels into your Emblem and decide what fits your skills. At the Reforger, salvage unwanted gear, reroll affixes, upgrade favourite pieces and transmute materials into new equipment.

A Wood Elf Ranger inspects a Unique ring and its affixes in the inventory.

SKILLS & ASCENSION: Past the last level

All twelve classes are available from the start. Shape your hero with class skills, weapon specialisations, General skills and Heritage traits. Respec at camp to try a different approach. Beyond level 30, earn Glory and develop your build through Ascension.

The branching Ascension tree and its Relentless bonus.

Face successive waves in the Proving Grounds and save checkpoints to unlock tougher difficulties. Climb from Ember through Cinder, Pyre and Inferno into numbered Cataclysm tiers, with stronger enemies and different loot to chase. Take on multi-stage bosses, refine your equipment and return prepared for the next challenge.

Between expeditions, manage your bank, collect companions and tune your loot filter. Adjustable interface scaling and colour-vision palettes help you read the battlefield.

Mouse and keyboard are supported. Online co-op requires an internet connection.
