About This Game

One lamp. A shifting library.

You took a job as a night-shift cataloguing assistant at a city library that closed years ago. Every night the stairs in the basement go a little deeper. Every morning you wake up behind the front desk, and the only proof of last night is the cards in your notebook.

The lamp holds what it holds. When the oil runs out, the Keepers come.

Knowledge is the only progression

No experience points. No stat upgrades. No more oil than the first night.
Everything you pick up is reclaimed when the night ends. What survives is what you catalogue. The library reshuffles itself every night, but its rules hold every time — learn them, and each night takes you further than the last.

Read everything

Books lie scattered through the stacks: staff notices, misprinted bulletins, the journals of the missing Chief, pencil notes in the margins, chalk on the walls left by whoever came before you. Some hold clues; some lie. Every truth you piece together adds a catalog card to your drawer.

Light is time, and fire is your only defense

Your oil is your clock, your light, and your ammunition. Splash burning oil to knock down a Keeper for a few seconds — every splash shortens the night. The Keepers aren't monsters. They're still working.

Into the depths

Down through the Periodicals Stacks, the Map Room, the Forbidden Section, the Repair Room, and deeper still into the unrecorded levels below. What you've catalogued when you reach the bottom decides how the night ends.

Built for the Game Boy Advance

UNCATALOGUED is a raycast 3D game designed within the limits of the Game Boy Advance: 240×160 pixels, a 256-color palette, ten buttons. The PC version runs the same core and draws the exact same pixels, scaled up to your screen — and the Game Boy Advance ROM (.gba) is included right in the installation folder for real hardware (via flashcart) or your favorite emulator (right-click the game in your Steam Library → Manage → Browse local files).

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

Some of the game's source artwork was created with AI image-generation tools, then edited, cropped, and quantized to the game's 256-color pixel palette. AI tools were also used during development to assist with coding and multilingual localization, followed by human review and testing.
