About This Game

Eight travelers. One oath.

Long before the Light fell, eight strangers were drawn to a hilltop circle of nine standing stones. A guard captain, a priestess, a hunter, an astronomer, a thief, a sell-sword, a weaver and a lighthouse keeper. Each had their own reason to be on the road. Together they swore an oath to protect the world.

This is their story, told from the inside, by people who believe they are saving her.

Every traveler, their own story

• Begin with Aldren, a guard captain with a cracked stone that hums, and gather the first four companions chapter by chapter.

• Then choose your road: find the other four travelers in any order, each in their own corner of the world.

• Three chapters for every traveler, Fireside Talks between companions, and an ending they all walk into with their eyes open.

Battles with real depth

• Find a foe's weakness, wear down its Bulwark and bring it low, then chain Bind, Expose and Sunder for crushing damage.

• Store Valor and Surge to strike several times in one turn.

• Swear the Oath: link all four travelers into a single finishing chain, and later unleash each Warden's own Oath.

• Every idea arrives one at a time, taught by a fight built for it. No walls of tutorial text.

A world you could hold in your hands

• 27 hand-built diorama maps: farm villages, a cathedral city, an ancient wood, a mining town, a lighthouse coast and a crater of black glass.

• Paper-doll characters that walk, blink, gesture and fidget, in a world of swaying grass, real fire, rain, snow and falling stars.

The game's artwork (character and enemy illustrations, portraits, props, backdrops and title art) was created with an AI image generator from the developer's own art direction and descriptions, then cut into parts, animated and arranged into the game's scenes with the game's own tools. The story and dialogue were drafted with an AI writing assistant under the developer's direction and edited by the developer. The music and short fanfares were generated with an AI music tool from the developer's direction, then trimmed and looped with the game's own tools. The short spoken lines in battle (shouts, cries and quips) use AI-generated voices reading the game's own script. Sound effects were synthesized by code and mixed with CC0 sound libraries. Nothing is generated by AI while the game is running.
