About This Game

ASCII Realms is a free-to-play online fantasy RPG drawn entirely in tiny colored text characters. Explore a shared world of glyphs, battle monsters with spells and steel, collect loot, and develop your character.

Explore an ASCII fantasy world

Travel on foot or horseback through a landscape of forests, water, ruins, and a walled settlement. Carry a torch into dark places and watch rain, reflections, and ambient life unfold in text.

Fight in real time

Wield a sword or cast fire, frost, and lightning against the world's monsters. Dodge enemy attacks, take on skeletal hordes, and earn experience as you fight.

Collect and customize

Pick up equipment and gold, manage your inventory, and equip your finds. Customize your blade at the forge with eleven materials and three rune slots.

Play in a shared world

Join dedicated online servers and channels with other players. Your character's progress, equipment, and gold are saved between sessions.

An internet connection is required to play.
