Drink. Dodge. Bank it.

You play a mosquito living in a hollow tree at the end of a suburban street. At night you fly into people's bedrooms, land on whoever's asleep and drink some of their blood. Then you fly home and store it in your nest.

Fly around the neighborhood and slip into people's homes.

Every bite makes the human a little more aware of you. If you push it, they'll swat at you or get out of bed and come after you with a swatter. If you die, you lose the blood you were carrying, so it often pays to head home early.

Land on bare skin, drink, and leave before the humans notice.

Blood is your currency: you spend it on eggs and upgrades. You lay the eggs in standing water around the houses (a flower vase, a plant saucer, a blocked gutter, a baby bath) and feed them. At dawn they hatch into kin, mosquitoes that go out on their own every night and add to your bank.

Lay eggs, hatch kin and let them feed for you.

The more you take from a house, the more careful the people there get. They plug in a repellent, keep the windows shut and keep bug spray by the bed. Overdo it and they call an exterminator, who fumigates the house and wipes out your colony. Your upgrades stay, though, so the next try goes better.

Ceiling fans, spiders, bug zappers, dragonflies, bug spray and, eventually, the exterminator.
