Why Early Access?

“The Last Gate already has a playable foundation, but our plans for its universe extend beyond the current content. We want to refine the experience and develop a larger campaign, which requires more production time. Early Access allows us to share this stage with players and use their experiences and suggestions to guide improvements to combat, progression, and other game systems.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Our current estimate is approximately 6 months from the Early Access launch. We plan to introduce an initial portion of the campaign around the third month, with the goal of completing the campaign planned for the full version around the sixth month.

If development, testing, and necessary improvements require additional time, we estimate that Early Access could extend to approximately 12 months in total. We plan to share our progress and any revisions to this schedule through the game's official channels.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Our main goal is to expand The Last Gate with a campaign that explores its story and universe in greater depth. We envision an experience with a different structure and gameplay flow from the current modes. We also plan to refine existing systems, balance, and performance based on what we learn throughout Early Access.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current version features four heroines with distinct combat styles, unique abilities, permanent talents, and upgrade cards that allow players to experiment with different builds during each run.

The available content includes progression through rifts, with objectives and boss encounters, alongside Survivor mode, which focuses on fighting hordes with automatic attacks. Players can play solo or in co-op with up to four players.

The larger campaign outlined in our plans is not yet complete. The game remains in development, with further balance adjustments, bug fixes, and performance improvements needed.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“There may be a small price adjustment during Early Access or when the full version launches. No price change has been decided yet. This decision will take into account the project's development, the amount of content added, and community feedback. We intend to communicate any price changes in advance.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We plan to stay in touch with players through our social media channels and the game's Steam Community Hub. We intend to use these spaces to share development news, gather suggestions, and track reported issues. Feedback on combat, difficulty, progression, and the co-op experience will help us identify priorities and guide the next steps in development.”
