You're a commercial diver left under an offshore platform after an accident. The only way up is a chain of emergency refuges, and each one needs a part from out in the dark. You get a bearing, six strobes and a few minutes of gas. Your supervisor, Mara, stays on the radio.

About This Game

Something hit the platform in the night and took the diving bell with it. You wake up in Refuge Four, a hundred and twenty metres down, and nobody is coming to get you.

Your supervisor, Mara, is still up in the control room. She can see you on the hatch camera for the first ten metres. After that it's you, your compass and whatever lights you leave behind.

You're in saturation, so you can't just swim up. You have to climb slowly, refuge by refuge, resting in each one while the pressure comes down. Every refuge needs something from outside before you can move on: a scrubber cartridge, a full gas bottle, a battery.

- Swim out on a bearing. There's no map and no marker on the screen. You read the route card, check the compass on your wrist and swim into the dark.

- Leave a trail. Drop strobes on the way out so you can find them on the way back. The receiver tells you how far away the refuge is, but not which way.

- Watch your gas. It runs out. Kicking hard burns it faster, and the current pushes you off your line while you work.

- Rest between dives. The refuge is warm and cramped. There's a bunk, a kettle and a radio, and Mara wants to talk.

- Things go wrong out there. The water silts up, the refuge lights go out while you're halfway home, and once, something big passes between you and your strobes.

Point Nemo is a short first-person horror game about deep water and finding your way home. There's no combat, and nothing chases you.
