Why Early Access?

“We want to develop Frontier Planetfall with feedback from players who enjoy exploration, survival and building. Early Access will help us identify where progression, combat and long expeditions need refinement, and test performance across a wider range of PCs.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We currently expect Early Access to last approximately 6–12 months. This is an estimate rather than a fixed deadline; the timing will depend on testing, player feedback and the work needed to reach a stable, polished release.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to improve performance across a wider range of PCs, refine combat and progression, and polish building, exploration and the overall desktop experience. Player feedback will help us prioritize improvements to existing regions and systems. The scope and timing of these plans may change during development.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Alpha 1.0.2 includes single-player exploration across distinct ground regions and floating islands, resource gathering, crafting, shelter building, cooking, dinosaur herds, hostile wildlife, regional investigations and boss encounters, including the T-Rex and Stormwing. Progression unlocks a glider and a survey aircraft for sky exploration. Expeditions can be saved and continued, with Steam Cloud support on Windows and native Linux. Keyboard and mouse and controller play are supported. The game is still in alpha: bugs, performance issues and balance changes should be expected. Multiplayer is not included.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to offer the game at a lower price during Early Access and increase the price for the full release as the experience becomes more polished. We intend to announce any price changes in advance.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We plan to use the Steam Community Discussions for bug reports, feedback and suggestions, and publish development updates and patch notes on Steam. Feedback on performance, combat, building and progression will help guide our priorities.”

About This Game

Make a home on an alien frontier

Frontier Planetfall is a single-player, first-person survival adventure about preparing for the journey ahead. Gather wood, stone and ore, craft tools and weapons, and turn a small camp into a home among the dinosaur herds.

Explore a world of ruins and wildlife

Set out from Hearth Meadow into distinct regions, from Copperwood's giant trees and the turquoise landmarks of Bloomrock Wilds to the obsidian landscape of Blackglass and the machinery of Ironroot. Search ruined settlements, follow regional investigations and restore ancient machines to unlock new materials and equipment. Peaceful herds wander together, while predators and other hostile creatures make each expedition a risk.

Build, craft and prepare

Construct shelters, place crafting stations and store supplies for your next trip. Hunt for food and materials, cook meals and keep your equipment repaired. Bring the tools you need to harvest trees, break stone and mine ore, then use what you bring home to improve your equipment and camp.

Fight with spears, swords and bows against creatures with different attack patterns. Watch the marked ground, listen for attack cues and dodge before a strike lands. Regional guardians test your preparation, while the T-Rex in Blackglass and Stormwing above the floating islands bring larger encounters with changing attack patterns.

Take your expedition into the sky

Progress beyond the ground regions to unlock a glider and build a survey aircraft. Reach floating islands, recover their archives and prepare for the dangers above.

Return to the world you built

Save your expedition and return to your shelters, supplies and progress. Play on Windows or native Linux with keyboard and mouse or a controller, with Steam Cloud support for your expedition saves.

Generative AI tools were used during development to help create selected artwork and 3D assets, and to draft and revise some dialogue and descriptive text. Some spoken dialogue uses AI-generated voice recordings. Selected instrumental music was composed with AI assistance and rendered into audio during development. These assets are prepared in advance and included with the game. The game does not generate AI content or connect to AI services during gameplay.
