A band born from the dice

Every warband in Band of Fortune is rolled before your eyes: origins, backgrounds, gifts, skills, weapons and spells, member by member. Choose your Avatar, name your companions and lead them into a frontier region that is falling apart.

A region that fights back

Every saga creates a new region on a hex map, with settlements, hidden places, enemy camps, lairs and dungeons. Three threats hold it in their grip, drawn from eight: the outlaws, the cult of the dead, the underground horde, the fey court, the orc hordes, the lizardmen, the damned armies and the totem empire. While you choose where to go, they grow stronger, make plans and strike. Ignore them, and settlements fall.

A campaign, week by week

• Prepare in town or in camp: train, heal, recruit, pray, gamble, study and more.
  
• Trade at the market, sell your loot and equip your band piece by piece.
  
• Choose your adventure: explore a place, strike at a threat, take a contract, follow a quest, patrol or rest.
  
• Travel brings encounters, rumours, new friends and fresh trouble.

Battles where every roll counts

Fight turn-based tactical battles on hex fields. Roll for initiative, use cover and line of sight, and pick defensive, elusive or furious tactics in every melee exchange. Shoot, cast spells and use enchanted items. Assault enemy camps, hold the line against raids, delve into crypts and caves, and drive monsters from their dens. Your enemies come to hurt you, and they do not hold back.

Every battle leaves a mark

Wounds, experience and advancement, loot and destiny points: after each fight your band is no longer the same. The fallen do not come back. They go to the memorial, and the chronicle remembers them.

Fair dice

Every roll shows its dice, its modifiers and its result, and the dice are truly random: no hidden help, no rigged streaks.
