Coming Soon To Early Access

The developers of this game intend to release as a work in progress, developing with the feedback of players.

Note: Games in Early Access are not complete and may or may not change further. If you are not excited to play this game in its current state, then you should wait to see if the game progresses further in development. Learn more

What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“In Wing It you design your own aircraft, and every plane flies, breaks and burns fuel according to how you built it. That gives far more combinations than I can test on my own. The core of the game is already playable, and I want players to fly it now, so their feedback can shape the flight model, the balance and the economy while the rest of the story is being built.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Around a year. During that time the story will arrive act by act, and the exact length will depend on what players report and ask for.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“I plan to add the rest of the story: Acts II to V with more than 60 new missions, choices that change what the characters say to you later, Helen's journal and a hidden ending. The story is also planned to open new regions (the mountains, the coast and the islands, and the desert) with their own licences, and to unlock bigger aircraft as your reputation grows, up to a full-size jet airliner. Alongside that, I plan new kinds of missions and more work on polish, balance and performance, based on what players report.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The whole sandbox side of the game is playable: designing aircraft in the hangar, flying them over an endless world with changing weather and a day and night cycle, cargo contracts, money, licences, the development tree, home airfield upgrades and walking on foot. Crashes and ditching on water come with full structural damage. The story includes the prologue and Act I, around twenty missions. Expect bugs and balance changes, and some of your designs will probably behave in ways I haven't seen yet.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“I plan to raise the price slightly when the game leaves Early Access, so buying it during Early Access will be the cheapest option.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I share the development in a devlog series on YouTube and in shorter clips on TikTok and Instagram, where I show what I'm working on and ask players what they think. I also read the Steam discussions and reviews, and the bug reports and suggestions from there help decide what comes in the next updates.”

About This Game

Twelve years ago, Helen Whitaker took off from Swallow Field and never came back. Now the airfield is buried in debt, the bank is about to auction it, and Condor Group is waiting to buy it cheap. Gus Morrow, Helen's old mechanic, has written a letter to you, her grandchild. You have a hangar, a few tools and a lot of empty sky. The rest is up to you.

Wing It is a flight and transport game where you design your own aircraft, fly cargo across an endless procedural world and slowly turn a failing airfield into a working business. The game is in Early Access. The core is playable today, and the story, the aircraft and the regions will keep growing with updates.

You don't pick a plane from a list. You build it.

  • Shape the fuselage and the wings yourself: span, outline, thickness, dihedral and winglets.

  • Choose a cockpit, from a small four-seater to an airliner flight deck.

  • Fit piston, radial, turboprop, turbojet or turbofan engines and scale them to your airframe.

  • Add landing gear that retracts into the wings and the fuselage.

  • Build a cargo hold or a passenger cabin with seats and doors.

  • Every part has its own mass and price, and the fuel sits in the wing tanks. If the design is wrong, you will feel it on the first takeoff.

Lift, drag, weight and thrust come from the plane you built, not from a preset. The air gets thinner as you climb, so the engines lose power and burn fuel differently. You have flaps, reverse thrust, a parking brake and an autopilot that can fly you to your destination. The wings bend under load, the structure suffers if you push too fast, and when an engine fails you fight the asymmetric thrust all the way to the runway.

When something goes wrong, your plane doesn't just explode. It breaks along its structure: wings snap, the fuselage crumples, engines tear off, and the wreckage ploughs into the ground and knocks down trees. Ditching on water is simulated too. Your cargo spills out with everything else, and the customer won't be happy about it.

  • A procedural world that goes on in every direction: forested lowlands, mountains, deserts, jungles, lakes, seas and islands.

  • A network of airports spread across the whole map.

  • Weather that moves: pressure systems, fronts, wind, turbulence, ground fog and storms you can see long before you reach them.

  • Clouds all the way to the horizon, with their shadows on the ground, and a full day and night cycle.

  • Take delivery contracts from the job board, carry the boxes to your plane on foot, load them and fly them to the next town.

  • Plan your route on the map with waypoints, a fuel estimate and wind correction.

  • Pay for fuel, repairs and materials. Nothing is free, not even fixing your first plane.

  • Earn reputation, get new licences and develop your skills in a development tree with seven branches. Flying at night needs a licence and working lights.

  • Upgrade your home airfield: the runway, runway lighting, a terminal, a fuel station and the hangar.

  • Leave the cockpit and walk around the airport on foot.

  • Speed up time on long flights.

In story mode you start with the Sparrow, a small four-seat plane, and a pile of unpaid bills. Every mission takes you a bit further: new towns, heavier cargo and passengers who notice every rough landing.

If you just want to build and fly, sandbox mode puts you straight in the hangar with no story and no deadlines.

You can play with a keyboard and mouse or with a gamepad, and every control can be rebound.
