What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We want to shape Shine Carpets Together with the people who play it. The core cleaning loop and online co-op are fun today, and player feedback will help us tune the feel of every tool, the job pacing and the shop economy before the full release.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We plan to stay in Early Access for roughly 6 months. This is our best estimate and may shift a little based on player feedback.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to add:
- More rugs and jobs: new rug families such as runners, hallway rugs and large antique carpets, with new dirt types to clean.
- A growing workshop: shop and workshop upgrades and decorations bought with the crew's earnings.
- A longer career: more customers with their own requests, plus new tool upgrades.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The full cleaning loop is playable solo or in online co-op for up to 4 players: 6 jobs across kilims, doormats and shag rugs, 9 tools, the shop with orders, delivery ratings and a tool store, and in-game voice chat. Balance, polish and sounds are still being improved.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to gradually raise the price as we add new content and features during Early Access. The full release price will be higher than the Early Access price.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We read every review and discussion post and use them to decide what to tune and build next. We will share regular updates with patch notes, and players can vote on and suggest new rugs, tools and features in the Steam discussions.”

About This Game

Some rugs come in dusty. Some come in after a rainy week at the front door. A few have spent ten years in Grandma's attic. Grab a friend (or three), pick up your tools and bring every one of them back to life.

Clean it layer by layer

Vacuum the crumbs, sweep the dust, crack dried mud, then foam and scrub until the dirt lifts into the suds. Rinse with the hose and pull the dirty water off the edge with a squeegee. Every pass reveals a little more of the pattern underneath.

Real water, real mess

Water spreads across the pile, soaks in and runs off the table. Foam piles up and gets pushed around. Leave a muddy patch wet and it dries right back into the fibres, so clean it properly, or clean it twice.

Better together

Work the same rug with up to 4 players online. One foams, one scrubs, one rinses, one keeps the edges dry. Talk it through with built-in proximity voice chat, or just enjoy the quiet scrubbing sounds on your own.

Run the little rug shop

Answer the ringing phone, greet customers at the door and pick the jobs you can handle. Deliver each rug with a before and after photo, earn stars, tips and urgent-job bonuses, and save up as a crew for new tools that unlock tougher rugs.
