About This Demo

One afternoon in the garden

You have locked yourself out. Your spare key is supposed to be inside a fake pebble, somewhere among thousands of very convincing real ones. There is only one sensible thing to do: start picking them up.

This demo lets you spend your first afternoon in Odd Rock Out, a cozy first-person game about listening closely, making little piles, and getting wonderfully sidetracked. From half past four to blue hour, you have around 35 minutes to see what the garden has in store.

Pick up a pebble. Find a distraction.

Turn pebbles over, shake them by your ear, and toss the quiet ones aside. Skip stones across the pond, investigate the squirrel, or see what happens when your aim meets the scarecrow. Look underneath the rocks, too. Beetles, fossils, and small forgotten things have made themselves at home.

Grandma has not forgotten you. Pip, her delivery drone, brings three parcels and handwritten letters, with a slingshot, a rake, and a seashell to keep you company.

A little company, a lot more pebbles

Play alone, or invite up to four friends for online co-op. Everyone only needs this free demo. Together you share the same afternoon, ten thousand pebbles, and a group photo with Pip before dark. Demo players can play with other demo players.

What is in the demo?

  • The first afternoon, from warm golden light to blue hour: around 35 minutes.
  • The garden, pond, squirrel, and plenty of things to aim at beyond the fence.
  • Three deliveries from Grandma: the slingshot, rake, and seashell.
  • Fossils, little creatures, and odd finds beneath the pebbles.
  • Single-player and online co-op for up to five players.

And beyond this afternoon?

The full game continues into the night, with more parcels, new visitors, and the rest of your search for the key. The demo has its own ending and separate saves; demo progress does not carry over to the full game.
