The free demo runs about two hours, from the job interview to your first promotion. Make ten calls in your first two weeks, run into big client Mr. Wang on Friday, and collect your first paycheck. Closed a deal? Then it's November's Promotion Review, with another big client, Teacher Zhou. Team Lead, Senior Advisor, or Mr. Wang's Advisor? Close nothing in your first month and you're out.

About the game

ColdCall is a dark-comedy telemarketing sim. You're 18/24/35, your business just went under, and SureWin Wealth is the only company that called you back. The job: cold-call strangers and sell them wealth products. Everything they say comes flying at you, and you have exactly one task: don't let them hang up.

Story and setting inspired by a Chinese author's essay about doing telesales in Guangzhou. Gameplay partly inspired by Undertale.

• Dodge the insults, catch the agreement: every line they say is a bullet
  
• The chef answers with a cleaver, the barber brings two pairs of scissors: whatever they do for a living, that's what hits you
  
• The suspicious one, the indecisive one, the talker, the one reading out a verification code: everybody on the list has their own routine
  
• The lead the AI scored 90/100 might be a rival telemarketer
  
• Xiaocheng, the AI compliance bot, listens in on every call. Each time it catches you, it comes out of your paycheck

• Big client Mr. Wang picks up the phone and fights you himself: he charges, he smokes, he throws cash
  
• Friday leaderboard decides your commission: first place doubles it, last place pays a penalty
  
• Base pay depends on talk time, commission on your rank. The rent doesn't care about either
