What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Twitchy Kitchen lives and dies by how it feels to play together: how chaotic the twitches are, how fair the guests are, how much fun stealing, getting caught and building your kitchen is. We want to tune all of that with real crews on the couch and online, not just in our own tests. Early Access lets us ship updates often, react to your feedback quickly and grow the game together with the people who play it.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We expect Twitchy Kitchen to stay in Early Access for roughly six to twelve months, depending on feedback and how the planned content comes together.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to add:
- deeper Twitch integration (for example channel points, bits, subs and raids that shake up the kitchen),
- more stations and recipes to build at the workbench,
- progression between runs,
- more restaurant layouts and weather that changes how a day plays,
- more guest types, events and balancing based on your feedback.
These are our current plans and may change as the game develops.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game is fully playable from start to finish: 1–4 players on one screen or online via Steam (drop in and out at any time, spectate, invite friends mid-run), Twitch chat integration, twitch chaos and combos, guests with patience and rage, complainers who run to the press, the delivery van, stealing and the police, the market and building your restaurant, seasons and weather (rain, snow, thunderstorms), randomly generated restaurants, English and German. Expect rough edges in balancing, some placeholder art and occasional bugs; error reports can be sent automatically (you can switch this off in the settings).”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes. We plan to raise the price when the game leaves Early Access. Everyone who buys during Early Access gets all updates and the full version at no extra cost.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We read the Steam discussions and reviews, post patch notes for every update and ask for feedback on new features before we finalize them. Crash and error reports (optional) help us fix problems quickly. Streamers and their chats are especially welcome: tell us how the Twitch features work in your stream.”

About This Game

Twitchy Kitchen is a co-op roguelite restaurant game for 1 to 4 chefs. By day you cook and serve, in the evening you rebuild. And every chef carries a twitch meter: stress fills it, and when it is full, something happens that nobody can control. A plate flies across the room. A chef spins into a pirouette. Someone sprints straight into the fryer line.

Good teams do not fight the twitches. They build around them. Put a counter where the throws land, keep the walkways open for pirouettes, and when a flying tomato drops right into the soup pot, you get a combo, bonus cash and a shower of confetti.

  • Prep: lay out ingredients and agree on who does what.
  • Service: guests arrive in groups, order, wait and pay at the table. Chop, cook, fry, bake, plate, serve, clear and wash up.
  • Evening: no timer. Spend your earnings at the wholesale market next door, carry new stations into the kitchen, rotate and rearrange everything together.
  • Card vote: every few days the team votes on a card: a new dish, a new twitch modifier, an advantage or a nastier kind of guest.
Runs are endless. How many days can you keep the restaurant open?

  • Throw, pirouette, shout, sprint, drop and double grab: every twitch is loud, cartoonish and readable.
  • Lucky accidents pay off: an item that lands on the right station or guest triggers a combo.
  • Calm a stressed teammate down with a high five.
  • Card modifiers bend the rules, from longer throws to caffeinated chefs.

Unhappy guests get louder, and their noise makes your chefs twitch faster. From day 4 the angriest ones pull out a cake cannon, a stink bomb or worse, and fire jumps from station to station until someone grabs the extinguisher. The critic pays well and forgives nothing, the glutton keeps ordering until he is full, and whoever storms out runs straight to the newspaper stand across the street. Catch him before the bad headline ends your run.

All of it is pure slapstick: no blood, nobody gets really hurt. A family mode swaps the flamethrower for a confetti cannon.

  • Buy stations at the wholesale market and upgrade them at the workbench in the yard.
  • Conveyor belts, grabbers, combiners, plate dispensers and a dishwasher let you automate whole lines.
  • Random restaurant layouts per seed, so no run starts the same way.
  • Spring, summer, autumn and winter, sun, rain, thunder and snow, and late shifts deep into the night.

  • Local co-op: up to 4 players on one screen with any mix of gamepads and two keyboard halves.
  • Online co-op: up to 4 players, also mixed with couch players on each side.
  • Solo: run the whole restaurant on your own.
  • Full controller support with Xbox, PlayStation and Nintendo button prompts and rumble.
  • Everyone starts in the staff spa: jump into the pool to join, then clock in together to open the restaurant.
  • "Show me how": a demo chef cooks each recipe once in front of you, step by step.

Connect your Twitch channel and your chat joins the game: viewers line up as named guests at your tables, wish for dishes, vote on the next card and can trigger twitches on your chefs. Cooldowns, limits and a subscriber-only option keep it fun instead of mean. No login required, the game only reads the chat.
