What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Conquest of the Realms is coming to Steam Early Access because a world built around cooperation and rivalry needs to grow alongside its players.

With five realms, hero progression, town building and territorial warfare, the game’s systems need to work together. Early Access gives us the opportunity to see how players develop their towns, build their forces and compete for objectives—and use that experience to improve balance, progression and the pace of play.

We want your feedback to help guide development. Which battles feel rewarding? Where does progression slow down? What makes capturing and defending a Keep worth the fight? Your experiences will help us identify what needs attention as we refine combat, address issues and expand the game.

Early Access means development is ongoing. Features, content and balance will change, and players should expect rough edges along the way. We’re choosing this approach to give the community a voice while there is still room to make meaningful improvements.

Our goal is to build a realm war worth returning to, with players helping shape its future.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“less than 1 year”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Our vision for the full version of Conquest of the Realms is a deeper, more expansive fantasy experience built upon the foundations established during Early Access.

We plan to continue expanding and refining the game's core systems, including real-time combat, Hero progression, town development, resource management, exploration, and the conquest of strategic Keeps throughout the five distinct realms.

As development progresses, we aim to introduce greater variety in Heroes, enemies, equipment, abilities, and realm-specific content. We also plan to expand the depth of town management, crafting, troop recruitment, and strategic progression, giving players more ways to develop their kingdoms and approach the challenges of the world.

A major part of our long-term vision includes expanding multiplayer interactions, cooperative gameplay, and competitive PvP experiences, alongside more challenging encounters, world events, and opportunities to explore the dangerous Void.

Throughout Early Access, we intend to improve combat responsiveness, character animations, visual presentation, game balance, performance, and the overall player experience across supported platforms.

Community feedback will play an important role in shaping our development priorities. As a small independent studio, we want to build Conquest of the Realms alongside our players, using their experiences and suggestions to help guide the game's evolution.

Our goal is for the full release to offer a richer, more polished, and more strategically engaging experience, while preserving the exploration, progression, and realm conquest that define the game. Planned features and their scope may evolve throughout development.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Conquest of the Realms is currently in an active, playable stage of development, with many of its foundational gameplay systems implemented.

Players can begin experiencing our fantasy world, exploring distinct environments, engaging in real-time combat, developing their Heroes, collecting equipment and resources, and interacting with the progression systems that form the foundation of the game.

The Early Access version provides an opportunity to experience the direction of the game while we continue expanding its features and improving existing mechanics.

Some aspects of gameplay remain works in progress. Combat responsiveness, character animations, enemy behaviors, game balance, visual effects, and user interface elements are continuing to receive improvements. Additional depth and polish are also planned for Hero progression, town development, equipment, and strategic gameplay systems.

While the game is playable, players should expect occasional bugs, incomplete features, balance adjustments, and changes to gameplay mechanics as development continues.

Our focus during Early Access is to build upon the existing foundation, improve stability and performance, and incorporate community feedback to help shape the future of Conquest of the Realms.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The game will remain Free to Play.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“At Small Time Studios, we believe that building a great game is a collaborative process, and we want our community to play an active role in shaping the future of Conquest of the Realms.

Throughout Early Access, we plan to maintain open communication with our players through Steam Community Discussions, our official Discord server, and development announcements. These channels will provide opportunities for players to share feedback, report bugs, suggest features, and discuss their experiences directly with our development team.

We intend to regularly review community feedback to help identify areas for improvement, prioritize bug fixes, refine gameplay balance, and guide the continued development of systems such as combat, Hero progression, town management, exploration, and multiplayer interactions.

As new features and improvements become available, we plan to share development updates, patch notes, and information about upcoming changes. We also hope to involve players in testing new mechanics and providing feedback before broader releases when practical.

As a small independent development team, we're passionate about creating a game that players genuinely enjoy. While not every suggestion can be implemented, we want our community to know their voices are heard and that their experiences matter.

Our goal is to create a welcoming, engaged community where developers and players work together to make Conquest of the Realms the best experience it can be.

Different Paths. Same Horizon.”

About This Game

Conquest of the Realms Combines Hero Combat, Town Building and a Five-Realm Struggle for Territory

Conquest of the Realms brings hero-driven combat, persistent town progression and army management into a fantasy world where players fight to strengthen their realm. Cooperative adventures and territorial player-versus-player battles connect personal advancement with a wider struggle for control.

Five distinct realms surround the otherworldly Nexus: icy Frostvale, the green hills of Southreach, the volcanic wastes of Dreadholm, the deserts of Sunara and the shadowed swamps of Valemoor. Players build their power at home while preparing to venture into contested territory.

BUILD, RECRUIT AND PREPARE

Players develop a town, gather resources and recruit and equip heroes and warriors. Town development supports the forces they take into battle, making preparation and resource management part of the campaign. Hero progression, equipment and combat abilities give players choices in how they approach encounters and contribute to their realm.

EXPLORE AND OVERCOME

Beyond the town, players explore the world, battle monsters and bosses, and discover loot to strengthen their forces. Cooperative PvE gives players opportunities to tackle threats together, while combat draws on different damage types and resistances that make an opponent’s strengths and weaknesses matter.

CAPTURE AND DEFEND

The territorial struggle spans 21 capturable objectives. Players clash with rival realms over Keeps and strategic locations, working together to expand their influence and defend what they have gained. Capturable objectives are designed to provide small bonuses to assigned skills or attributes, giving players a practical reason to fight for control.

The broader objective is to turn individual progress into realm strength: build a productive town, develop capable heroes, prepare an army and help secure territory on the advance toward the Nexus. Exploration, preparation and coordinated combat each contribute to that effort.

Conquest of the Realms connects the growth of a player’s town and heroes with the changing demands of a shared territorial war.
