What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“The game can be played from the first guided flight to the last upgrade today. The planet, the towns, the jobs and the ship’s equipment are all there. But I am one person, and there are two things I can’t find out alone. One is the pace of progress in a long game. How long does the next upgrade take to earn, and which jobs are still fun to do for the tenth time? The other is where the planet feels empty or not varied enough. I would like to hear both from people who play for many hours, while I work on the towns and the jobs that are planned, so that what players say can still change what gets built.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I expect about six to nine months. It depends on what players report and on how the planned additions turn out, so it may take longer.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“I plan to add more towns and more details and variation to the landscape, so that the quiet parts of the planet become places worth flying to. I plan a second large building project that would give the game an end goal (today there is none). I also plan to draw the gamepad’s buttons and keys in the hints and tune the game for the Steam Deck, and to adjust pay, prices and the jobs by what players report. What arrives, and in which order, may change with the feedback.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version is a whole game with a missing ending.

In it today: one planet with eight towns, flyable all the way round. Six kinds of job: cargo, photographs, passengers, search and rescue, fire fighting and one large building project. Equipment, ship upgrades and liveries to earn. A camera and postcards. Wind layers, clouds, fog, rain, storms, day and night. A radio station in every town. A guided first flight and a handbook.

It plays with keyboard and mouse, a gamepad or a touchscreen, on Windows and Linux, in English, German, Japanese and Brazilian Portuguese. There are three save slots, and the game saves by itself.

Earning and building everything takes about 5 hours. After that you can fly on and take jobs, but there is nothing new to discover. Pay and prices are not finally balanced, some parts of the planet are empty, and there are bugs.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“I plan to raise the price a little when the game leaves the Early Access phase, because it should have more content by then. I don’t plan to charge for updates during Early Access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I read the Steam discussions and will answer there. What I am interested most in is how a longer running game feels: what took too long to earn or progress, which jobs did you stop taking and why, does anything feel too repetitive, and where did you fly just to find... nothing. Each update has notes that say what changed and what came from players’ reports. Before a larger addition I plan to describe it in a post and ask what you think of it.”

About This Game

You fly an airship around a tiny planet, over sea and mountains, through cloud and rain, and from dawn until the windows of its towns are lit at night. There are towns in remote locations on it, and each one needs something flown in or asks for assistance. How you get there is up to you, the winds (hopefully in your favour) and how much fuel, ballast and gas is left.

Tiny Planet

All of it is a few minutes' flight away.

A varied landscape, mountains, sea and weather effects, a bending horizon that reminds you of how small the world is. Climb, and things on the far side come up over it. The towns are in the strangest places: inside a cave, on a summit at 960 m, on a table of rock, out on the water. You find them by flying around and spotting them, or by listening to what people at the dock say.

Airship Captain

The ship floats in the height where its lift equals its weight. Everything moves that point: the cargo you load, the fuel you burn, the ballast you drop, the hydrogen you vent. Engines push you up or down for a while and cost fuel. Ballast and gas change your height for longer cruises.

The wind blows different in each height. Find the layer where the wind goes to your advantage where you are going, and let it do some of the work.

Rain ahead. Up and round it!

Flexible Hours

All aboard, all cold, all fine.

Carry cargo, and if you load fragile goods, take care to not spill the tea in your cockpit. Take photos and keep the best as postcards. Fly passengers who have special wishes or expectations for the trip. Answer a rescue call, or put out a fire. Help with construction projects.

The pay buys equipment, ship improvements or a new coat of paint.

Relax and enjoy the flight

There are no fail states and no pressure you did not ask for. A hard landing costs repairs and some pride. If you run out of everything or get stuck, a tow ship can be called and brings you to the nearest town, which will supply you with the basics to continue. A flight is a few minutes long, and the planet’s day goes from dawn to night in a little over half an hour.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

I'm a solo developer. The idea, the design, the gameplay, the visual style, the balancing and the playtesting are mine. I wrote the code with an AI coding assistant, step by step from my own written design.
Some of what you see and hear is drawn by that code, not by hand: the planet, the airship, the engine sound, the icons, the badges and the shaders. I specified each of them and tuned them until they looked and sounded right. The store page artwork was made the same way, by the coding assistant following my layouts and style choices.

The Japanese and Portuguese translations in the game were drafted with AI, but they are currently re-phrased by native-speaking proof-readers and will be replaced soon.

No image, music or voice generator was used. The music, the recorded sound effects and the 3D models were made by human artists, are used under licence and are credited in the game.
Nothing is generated by AI while you play. The game contains no AI model and needs no internet connection.
