About This Software

Voice Notes lets you talk instead of type. One shortcut dictates into the app you already have open. Another opens a small card that rewrites what you said, so you can check it before it is sent.

Dictate

Speak, and the words type themselves into notes, chat, email, or an editor. The card stays on screen and does not take keyboard focus.

• Your words: Dictation types what you said. It does not rewrite the meaning.

• Styles, on your machine: Sentences, casual, lowercase, as heard, or a clean pass that drops fillers.

Compose

Hold a longer passage on a dual-pane card. Your transcript stays put. The rewrite sits above it, and that is what gets sent.

• Ready to send: Smart message, professional, summary, and translate.

• Prompt builder: Turn a spoken idea into a prompt for an assistant.

• Fun Speech Conversion: Pirate, Shakespeare, noir, and more. Add your own mode if you want a different one.

Speech and models

• Whisper on your machine for offline dictation. On Windows, built-in speech is available too.

• Bring your own model for compose: OpenAI, OpenRouter, Groq, Ollama, LM Studio, or another OpenAI-compatible endpoint.

• Pick a screen: Remember a monitor by the display itself. If that screen is off, fall back to the main display or wherever the pointer is.
