About This Game

Co-op horror on the radio night shift

It's the 1980s. You and up to three friends work the night shift for Station 9, a backwoods radio station that pays for strange recordings. Drive a battered news van into the woods, find signals that shouldn't exist and get them on tape before the woods find you.

Hunt the signal

  • Sweep the forest with a scanner and a direction finder.

  • Plant tripod mics around the source to lock onto the signal.

  • One of you runs the van: tune the frequency, watch the radar and record to tape.

Stay close. Stay quiet.

Proximity voice and walkie-talkies. Wander too far and your crew turns to static. And something is listening: the Mimic copies your friends' voices, and sometimes their faces.

Something is out there

Every creature plays by its own rules. Learn them or don't come back.

  • The Mire rises from the tar behind whoever wanders off alone and drags them into a maze beneath the ground. Your crew has to find your body and wake you up.

  • The Mimic calls from the woods in your friend's voice.

  • The Watcher only moves when nobody is looking.

  • Pale Deer stands on the treeline. Don't move while it's watching.

  • The Listener is never seen. It hunts whoever makes the most noise.

  • ...and more waiting in the dark.

Flares and a camera flash buy you time. Not much.

No two nights are the same

Storms, dead fog and blood moons. Generators that cut out, consoles that break and antennas that need fixing in the dark, with something watching from the trees.

Mature Content Description

The developers describe the content like this:

KVOID is a horror game with dark settings, frightening imagery and jump scares. Monsters stalk, chase and kill player characters; deaths are not graphic and there is no blood or gore. One creature imitates the voices of other players, which some players may find unsettling. The game includes proximity voice chat between players, which is not moderated.
