What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We want to develop STRAW with feedback from players. Early Access will help us refine classroom combat, tasks, bot behavior, and multiplayer, while learning which aspects of the game the community would most like us to improve.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We expect STRAW to remain in Early Access for approximately 3 to 6 months after its Early Access launch. This estimate may change depending on development progress and player feedback.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Our goals are to expand and refine classroom activities, improve bot behavior and game balance, and continue improving the existing online and LAN multiplayer modes. Player feedback will help determine priorities and the scope of the full release.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current build includes 12 classrooms, 32 characters, straw-and-spitball combat, classroom tasks, solo play against bots, and online multiplayer through Steam as well as local network (LAN) play for up to 16 participants combining human players and bots. Internet multiplayer is already playable. Players should expect bugs, balance adjustments, and changes to existing features during Early Access.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We currently plan to keep the same base price throughout Early Access and at full release.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Players can share bug reports, balance feedback, and suggestions through the Steam Community discussions. We plan to use this feedback to guide development priorities and publish update notes explaining significant changes.”
