What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We want to develop Night Glass: One More Tide with players who care about its mix of maritime horror and hands-on rescue. Feedback can help us improve how navigation, treatment and creature encounters fit together, and whether the story and atmosphere make each rescue matter. Early Access gives us room to act on that feedback as we develop the game.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We currently expect to spend roughly six months in Early Access, measured from the Early Access launch. During that period, we plan to use player feedback to refine the rescue loop, develop the story and improve balance, presentation and performance. This is an estimate rather than a fixed release date; the timeframe may change as we learn from testing and development. We will explain changes to the plan in our Steam development updates.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to develop the story further, add more patient situations and creature encounters, and improve navigation, treatment, balance, presentation and performance. The scope and order of that work may change with testing and player feedback. Our goal for the full version is a cohesive base-game experience, with any optional expansions considered separately later.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game is currently in development and is not yet available to purchase. The current development build focuses on a rescue voyage: navigating a small boat through a tidal bay, boarding a wreck, treating and bringing a survivor aboard, and facing a creature encounter that can continue inside its body. Visuals, sound and encounter readability are still being refined. This is not the complete planned story. We will update this description to reflect the playable launch build before paid Early Access begins.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to keep the base price unchanged during Early Access and raise it for the full 1.0 release as the game’s content and polish grow. We have not set the final price yet and intend to announce it before the change. Early Access owners receive subsequent base-game updates and the full version, if completed, without buying the base game again.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We plan to use Steam discussions and development updates to gather feedback, report changes and explain our priorities. Our First Bloom Games YouTube dev diaries will show how the game is developing. We are especially interested in where players get lost, how treatment feels, how clearly creature encounters communicate danger, and which story moments stay with them. Bug reports that describe what happened and how to reproduce it will help us investigate issues. Feedback will inform our decisions; it does not guarantee that every suggested feature will be added.”

About This Game

Bring them home before they change.

Night Glass: One More Tide is a single-player horror adventure set in a fictional version of the Great Lakes. You pilot a small rescue boat into dark water, board a wreck, and care for a survivor whose body is changing. Getting to them is only half the journey: you still need to bring them home.

A rescue voyage with something beneath it

  • Navigate by boat through narrow passages and keep your return route in mind.
  • Leave the helm to board a wreck and examine a survivor.
  • Work through hands-on treatment, then bring the survivor aboard your boat.
  • Face creatures in the water, including an encounter that can take you inside a giant creature.
  • Attempt the return to Home Light with the person you came to rescue.

People at the heart of the fear

The danger is not only the creature outside the boat. Someone aboard needs your help, and their condition is part of the horror. The game brings boat navigation, patient care and creature encounters into the same rescue journey.

A game in development

The current development build centers on this rescue voyage; it is not the complete planned story. Visuals, sound, encounter readability, balance and performance are still being refined. Read the Early Access section for the current scope and our plans for development with player feedback.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

Generative AI has been used during development to create selected 3D assets and visual textures, music and sung vocals, and prerecorded character dialogue, and to assist with narrative drafting. The store artwork and some promotional narration are also AI-assisted. These assets are prepared before play; the game does not generate AI content during gameplay.

Mature Content Description

The developers describe the content like this:

Contains frightening sea creatures, tense pursuit and combat, bodily injury and transformation, and disturbing medical treatment. Players explore organic interiors of living creatures with exposed tissue and bones. The story includes illness, missing people and implied death.
