About This Demo

Play the first summer of a wild salmon's life. Hatch from the gravel of a mountain brook and grow your fry into a parr - hunting nymphs, shrimps and drifting insects among the stones, while the trout and the kingfisher hunt you.

The demo is about ten minutes long and ends when your fry becomes a parr. In the full game the journey goes on: down the river to the sea, the years in the open ocean, and the long way home.

Parts of the in-game text (the field journal entries and the story of the salmon's life) and of the store page text were drafted with the help of an AI assistant, then reviewed and edited by the developer. All 3D animals come from real scans and models by credited artists; the sounds and music are generated by the game's own code. Nothing is generated by AI while you play.
