About This Game

"Clunkers" is an online cooperative horror game that supports up to 6 players. As the eliminated old robots, you have to dig out valuable scraps from the streets buried under the unprecedented terrifying snowstorm in New York in 1985, transport them in a broken van, and sell them before the recycling robots find and violently dismantle you.

The Gentle Hand Recycling Company solemnly promises: crush recycle every retired model gently.

Snow Digging: The entire street is buried under the snow, and so are the good things.

Digging bit by bit, like an archaeologist, unearth the old televisions, refrigerators, and radios that residents threw away from the snow. What you find depends on luck; some are treasures, some are junk. Once found, use the traction beam on your head to move it back to the van.

Handle With Care: Every scratch is deducted from your wallet.

Pay the amount for the recycling truck every night, and then drive to a safe spot before the recycling robots catch up to you.

The Van: Not big, but it's a home.

Drive it, install it, repair it, upgrade it. It's not very reliable, but it's your few sources of security.

Hunted: Gentle Hand is listening.

The recycling machine finds you by sound and light, including your and your teammates' microphone voices. If caught on the open ground, they will drag away have a "gentle intimate contact" with you.


Mobile Surgery: Unlicensed. No refunds.
Every little robot is assembled from parts: two eyes, two arms, two legs, two insulation panels. Get smashed by a monster, and you'll lose a few of them at random. Haul your teammate's remains back to the van and shove them into the surgery pod — they'll boot right back up, maybe missing an eye or an arm.

The snow also hides all kinds of questionable attachments: night-vision eyes, drill arms, rocket boots… Swap out your original parts in the surgery pod to gain unexpected abilities. Or pull off your own parts and give them to a teammate who needs them more.

Deep Freeze: Your joints weren't made for this kind of weather.

Staying outside for too long will freeze you, making your movements slow or even completely freezing. The car provides suitable heating, and in an emergency, the small robot can significantly consume its own power (health) to make itself hot to warm the surrounding companions.

The Shop: The cost-saving robots have all been recycled.

After a safe evacuation every night, use your living money balance to upgrade or purchase weapons and items.
