Why Early Access?

“Three words: Community Driven Game. Early Access gives me the opportunity to see what players would like to see more of in the game or what needs to change. It also provides me with the flexibility I need to make changes and additions with the feedback and support of the community. I love game development, but one of the hardest parts of being a solo developer is being in a silo, where I get little to no feedback during most of the development process. This changes with Early Access.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I plan on keeping The Banishing Act in Early Access for about 6 - 12 months, depending on how things are going. I feel this will be ample time for many updates and changes with the help of the community. One thing I do not want to do, is keep it in Early Access forever because that is not fair to the community, nor do I want the continued pressure of adding new stuff forever.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version of The Banishing Act will have MORE MORE MORE. More demons, tools, maps, clues, customization options, etc. The full version will also include lots of bug fixes as well as changes related to community input.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Banishing Act is currently fully playable as intended with several maps, lots of clues, cursed objects, the majority of tools and customization, and full end to end gameplay functionality and story. Playing in Early Access will give you the full Banisher experience and will help shape the future of The Banishing Act.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“I do not plan to change the price between Early Access launch and the Full Release.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“The community is the critical piece in any game and The Banishing Act takes community driven to the next level. Since I am a solo developer, I want to be integrated with the community as much as possible, and I plan to regularly send out polls on Steam for what the community wants to see next. I also plan to be active in Discord, as well as reviews and comments. All constructive feedback is welcome. I want to make the game as fun for as many people as possible and I need your help to do it, I'm not a mind reader!”
